Does anyone listen to Jesse Brown's Search Engine? He has a strong media focus and has ran some great shows all around the net and privacy laws. I've been enjoying his work for a while now. I started listening to him on his Contrarians CBC summer series. He then started Search Engine. Now he's with TVO. All his latest are on tvo.org
If Jesse Brown presented the Contrarian series, I don't have much interest in hearing him speak. As I recall, he was 'contrarian' in that he would find a liberal or progressive position and give you a 'radical' interpretation that was basically a centre-right rebuttal. The 'feminism is dead' show was particularly odious.
Maybe his new show is better, more interesting and more honest, but I don't think I'll make the effort to find out.
Heh, somewhat agree with Contrarians. I'd forgotten about the femminism show, haha. Shit, that was bad. The one about how great hiphop is struck me as particularly laughable. But I listened each week.
To be clear - I'm not really a big fan of Brown himself. But Search Engine, for those interested in net related issues, is worthwhile.
