Unless I'm mistaken, we talked about a meet-up, but did not set a time and place.
Occasion for having one that NDP Convention would bring some extra babblers to town. But not just for Dippers of course.
My knowledge of watering holes is not that good. [And I'm not attending Convention, so don't know the sched.] But if no one else sets a time and place, I will. [But not Thursday night for me.]

I'll be in town there late Thursday night, possibly into Friday morning, and I'm not a stranger to the before noon parties either.

Pick a location (in front of the main stage once the Saturday goings-on have concluded, for example) and whomever congregates there can go to one of the local establishments to socialize!

I haven't been around much the last couple years but I am going to Halifax for Convention and would be down to meet up at some point over the weekend. Never been to Halifax before though, so have no idea where might be a good spot...

I've never been inside the World Trade Convention Centre, so I have no idea of the lay-out.
My idea still stands.
Converge in front of the main speaker's podium as soon as things have concluded on Saturday night, and pick a local establishment to go visit.

So, piggybacking at the Tweet-up it is. Saturday at 9:00, though some of the Converntion attendees might be a bit later. Until the Carelton shuts down.

No doubt too late for me to say this. But I set-up the time and place for this, and can't be there.
Bit of a family crisis and I had to leave town suddenly.
Said I would put up a Babblers Here sign.
If someone wants to do that, or something more imaginative, that would be great.
