On a more serious note, here's the most recent opinion polls on party preference in Germany. They appear to point to a CDU-FDP landslide, with the SPD still suffering badly for its pointless decision to join a grand coalition with the CDU, its refusal to defend the welfare state or the labor movement with any real passion while serving in that coalition, andits insistence on sticking with bland centrism. The Greens have shown some increase in support, though it's hard to say why since the "realos" have kept them from saying anything that actually mattered. All together, depressing.
