What is Harper's intentions over the Arctic?

Has Harper sold out the Canadian Arctic and its resourses to NATO?

Would that surprise you? Harper ideologically recognizes his role as Prime Minister is to assist the colonial states in plundering and looting our "home and native land".

No, it doesn't surprise me. It saddens and frightens me. What also saddens and frightens me is how the mainstream Canadian media is portraying Harper as a patriot who is strong on defense. No mention is made how Harper is once again heating up the Cold War (the anti Russian statements) and how this is not Canadian defense but part of (the new Super) NATO's global strategy: the militarization of energy.

I think it's just a ploy. He is trying to distract away from how his pro-oil company, pro-corporate positions are doing harm to our Canadian economy and culture.  If you want to lead Canada you have to leave your pro-American policies at the door.

September 1, 2009:

"Canada's chief of defence staff met quietly with his Danish counterpart to strengthen military co-operation in the Arctic just days after the Conservative government mounted a solo display of military prowess in the Far North. The unannounced discussions between Gen. Walter Natynczyk and Admiral Tim Sloth Jorgensen took place over several days last week, and were only made public in a Danish news release."

I read this article in a Canadian newspaper. No credit was given to the media source - whether it was Associated Press (AP) or Canadian Press (CP) or whom.

I find Harper's Nixonian secretive ways a little unsettling.
