Finance minister preemptively kicks pigs out of the trough at OLG

Ontario's finance minister has fired the head of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation and accepted the resignations of the entire board of directors in an attempt to head off another scandal. Dwight Duncan told a news conference at Queen's Park on Monday that he was "taking action to ensure protection of taxpayers money." Duncan said there had been problems with expenses and they represented "symptoms of much larger problems" at OLG.

I wonder what the much larger problems will be. We've already seen this sort of thing over at eHealth, could it be that this sort of thing is actually representative of the people the Liberals have appointed to Ontario agencies?

Farmpunk

This strikes me as knee jerk stuff.  Ehealth reads as being much more gross in its transgressions than those listed for the OLG board.

I'd like to see a list of perks and expenditures for those in the higher levels of Ontario's ag ministry, for instance.  How many contractors does that department regularly employ?

Back to OLG.  It's hard to imagine how state supported legal gambling could ever end up being corrupt...
