Were you responding to me Remind or another post?

puking......

Can I have a little clarity Remind? The last two posts you have made after posts of mine are a tad cryptic.

Hmmm, seems she overlooked the point being made that it can't be safely practised anywhere. Which apparently the litigants and the Judge herself admitted to, as well.

So then really, now that we can see that they all agree it can be practised no where safely, where does it leave us?

Gee, tough question.

Round up sex workers and house them in unlisted protective facilities?

Charge Alan Young with living off the avails (he is, isn't he!!??)

Ban all sex that isn't based on true love or doesn't have procreation as an explicit written goal?

I see a number of solutions which would leave the current well-thought-out pro-women laws intact.

Ghislaine

lol @ snert and unionist, who both hit the nail on the head.

remind, why don't you wait until you can actually formulate a response instead of just typing "puking" every three posts? It would be nice if you could clarify what it is you are puking over.

I still cannot fathom how people here think their need to "protect women" should overrule an individual woman's own desires, choices and right to control and own her own body??  Please don't answer that you only want to criminalize men who buy sex. If a sex worker's clients and therefore ability to live as she chooses are illegal then you are not helping her.

Not just her clients. How about the owner of her apartment building? The supermarket where she shops? The lawyers she hires to defend her (or to argue for decriminalization)? The government who collects taxes?

Instead of letting all the above-mentioned profiteers off the hook through decriminalization, why not hire extra cops and build more prisons and courtrooms? Why are existing laws not being enforced!? Need I mention the positive spinoff benefits to the economy?

When the only tool people think to use to lessen the poverty women endure,  is advocating the selling their body to exploitative men, the only thing one can do is puke.

Ghislaine, you who stated  prior that you would teach your daughters chastity until marriage,  apparently now feel it would be alright for them to be going into prostitution as a trade.

Or do you hold yourself and your potential future daughter's/granddaughters separate and apart in your musings on this?

Who's saying this? Can you be specific?

If I had a child, I would most definitely hope that they not get a big tattoo on their face. But it doesn't mean I would want to criminalize people getting a tattoo on their face, nor criminalize tattoo artists who tattoo people's faces. This is just such a laughably red herring: you cannot believe sex work to be real work unless you urge your daughters and granddaughters to do it. Srsly.

Hey, as long as you generally follow the Canada Food Guide, an occasional snack of red herring never hurt anyone. Especially when there's no logic left in the fridge.

Gotta love men advocating exploitation of women, and being snide in the feminist forum, it shows their progressive credentials, as something to emmulate and strive for.

Again with this.

The end of this thread is a good illustration of why God created "closing threads for length". ;)

Ah yes, I see the logic. If you want to make pimps disappear, decriminalize their practice and poof... they become "hired help" (the kind that punches you out if you don't bring in the required amount).

Funny, traditional pimps still seem to be around - and in major numbers - in the countries that have decriminalized pimping and brothels. But they have practically disappeared in Sweden, that decided to really apply the legislation that is, for all practical puroposes, shelved in Canada.

Unionist, isn't it a bit tawdry of you to conflate living off the avails of prostitution and receiving money from someone? Care to offer any jurisprudence to demonstrate how the current law is being abused as you allege? You could have at least indicated a satiriuc intent...

GOD

Thanks for noticing.
