Do you seriously think you are being kind?  It doesn't feel like kindness to me, it feels like a threat (ooooh what happens when skdadl is not kind?) and a personal insult. I think you could have disagreed without the jabs and as you are someoneone who is respected here I would hope that you refrain from insulting other posters.

ennir, I think I am not being rude, and I am not violating babble standards. That's all I meant when I inserted those parenthetical comments. I obviously don't take Tigana's use of authorities I respect very seriously. Perhaps I could have found better ways of putting that. I'm certainly open to suggestion.

You guys, I don't know how long this is going to go on, and I feel sorry that many nice people here are being hurt. I'm no expert on this topic -- I suspect that those people have already left.

Anyway, I'm bowing out because I don't want to cause any more damage, and I wish you all well. Through this winter, I wish you all well.

Tigana: I know Marcia Angell's work very well, in some detail, and if you think there is any way of appropriating that work for the loose (I'm being kind) arguments that you are making here, then you are just not a very good reader (I'm still being kind).

According to Harvard researchers, AIDS denialists cost the lives of 300,000 people in South Africa.

Quote:
South Africa has one of the severest HIV/Aids epidemics in the world. About 5.5 million people, or 18.8% of the adult population, have HIV, according to the UN. In 2005, there were about 900 deaths a day.

So when people start posting kooky shit, some of us might get a little peeved.

This kooky shit is derailing any useful discussion we might have, like Noah's legitimate concerns about mercury in vaccines.  Noah has discussed his own medical issues frankly and honestly, as have many other people who post on babble.

Skdadl has been more than patient, but this kookery is tiresome, and if it reaches to high levels of a large country's government, it kills people.

I don't know if this idiot fuckery is trolling, or if it's honestly believed, but the idiot fuckery remains indisputable.

Beware the flu. Watch those around you. For who knows what today, tonight, or tomorrow will bring?  - new narration pulled from the ending of John Carpenter's,  The Thing. The whole colder war point of the thing is to learn to live in fear. Any reason will do. And the long term effects of being fearful and associated hormonal imbalances, adrenaline rushes etc is terribly unhealthy. And that's good for big pharma's bottom line, too.

I am with whoever said omg close this fucking thread.  What a poisonous piece of work this is.

I have been avoiding this place lately.  This thread is an excellent example of why.

Sineed, nowhere did I deny AIDS, and the Guardian link was not quoted by me, so please delete your comments.

Good GOD, look at the post count!  To think I could have closed this train wreck ages ago.  This has long since ceased to be about the H1N1 virus, and has become about everyone's favourite pet theories.  It's also getting nasty.

Closing for length and overall deterioration.
