What Annett is doing is bad reporting, bad science, and bad politics. It is SUPREMELY irresponsible. I am absolutely furious about this - and my fury comes from my solidarity with indigenous people in their struggles and with full acknowledgement of the ongoing genocide of indigenous people in Canada.

Yes, I read this too, Brian, and was perhaps even more annoyed than the poster you quote, because I sometimes communicate with Annett. His site is here

I am not sure that you know what "conspiracy theory" means; most people who use the term actually don't, but it is not a term to be thrown out just because you disagree with someone.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conspiracy_theory

'The term "conspiracy theory" is frequently used by scholars and in popular culture to identify secret military, banking, or political actions aimed at stealing powermoney, or freedom, from "the people".'

Brian, you note that vaxx may be given to elite first:

"I was telling people not to let the f.. in charge steal the vaccine for private sale or to let healthy people jump queue.  My message was to be fair and let the people in most danger get vaccinated first.

Is that then a conspiracy theory?

You're welcome, Politics and Tigana,  and I apologize for the simplicity of the  info,

....had been going to include links, but was not sure if people were that interested in body functions and immune responses, and did not want to waste time digging them up, if  people weren't.

Little bit less simple, though still very..

Even though the body's immune response to viruses is similar to bacterial, or fungal, invaders/antigens, that is the only way they are similar.

When bacteria and funguses replicate/cell divide,  they remain what they were, with their own DNA sequencing, and they do it under their own power using necessary building blocks like sugars which are present in the body.

When viruses park on a host's DNA sequencing, they do not use sugars etc to cell divide,  and make an exact replica of themselves, they use the DNA sequencing protiens present in the nucleus of the host cell, combined with the strand that they are already, and thus  they make a whole new strain of themselves.

They are no longer what they were before replication. They are neither the virus that entered the body, nor are they recognized by the body as part of the body.

There are different types of viruses, and different types of strains, within virus types.

Virus mutate because they use  host cell nucelus and DNA to replicate themselves,  bacteria does not mutate like viruses because it duplicates itself exactl.

etd to add links

Brian, this subject is not your day job, atleast I hope to cryst it isn't, just post the link you want and let people figure it out for themselves if they wish, I'm amazed you use Wikipedia as our bible, others obviously don't.

brian, the body has killed the cells that the virus has invaded. That is how antibodies work.

Viruses invade cells, in order to  be able to cell divide, they have to use the nucleus of the host cell, to make a replica, or several, of itself.

Only when they do so, it of course becomes a replica of itself in combination with the DNA stands of the nucleus of the host cell.

In the case of HIV, the virus goes traight for T cells, and creates replicas of itself within T cells, until it has enough to invade other T cells, and take them over and destroy their capabilities at sensing and destoying other antigens, and itself.

If you want all the links to body functions and viruses,  brian I will be happy to put them up, but indeed they say the same thing I did only way more indepth as opposed analogies.

Ranger, wikipedia gets reviewed constantly by professionals.  Many links posted by others were never reviewed by anybody and many were proven to be outright lies.  See above for details.

People cannot figure it out for themselves when jokers start fearmongering about 1 in a million chances of getting damaged from vaccines and blandly saying the risk from the vaccine is the same as the risk from the sickness.  I am not sure of the figures but would I be correct in saying that a third of the people who got most seriously sick with h1n1 in bc were first nations?

Also, nobody even commented on my suggestion that over 600 patient days of hospital time  was taken up last week with h1n1  and that this has a cost too.

ranger, I used wiki too, because it is not bad for a source of basic health info, better than digging through medical texts to make citations from.

brian I was not being sarcastic, I  saw that you did not understand the antigen antibody actions within our body, and I had wrongly assumed most would know.

...but it appears not to be the case.

And I did not remove vital parts i simplified so people could get a intiial  and very very basic understanding, so if they were interested they could research more themselves.

how do you put years of  education into a couple of posts, other wise, though as I said I should have added links for those more technically inclined, such as yourself.

Please do read back through all of my links brian, and you will get a better picture

You made the claim that the body's defences are the reason for most cell death and that is simply not the case.

I did not make a claim about most cell deaths at  all

.......I made a claim about antigens that die as a result of the body's defense mechanisms.

anyhow carry on.....

I'll comment, and your math suggested this, where is the data for this? I coulbn't find it on Wikipedia.

If you think someone's wrong, refute them, don't attack them and tell them to leave or demand that moderators ban them.  People who read babble are smart enough to read the posts and decide for themselves.

Seems reasonable enough however there aren't enough hours in the day to refute all the nonsense being posted, or linked to, on babble, as a consequence of this whole flu thing.

I'd volunteer to be science moderator - I think one is desperately needed - but I'm too damn busy these days.

If everyone else's kid is becoming autistic then mine better not be denied!!!1! The only thing worse than Big Pharma making snake-oil vaccinations out of mercury and anthrax spores is someone making sure that the common man has to wait for theirs.
