Smile, you're on toilet cam at Wal-Mart!

Seven former and current employees from the Tire and Lube department at the Walmart in Easton, Pa., filed a lawsuit in county court against the Arkansas-based corporation and four local managers Dec. 21.

Several employees discovered an "off-the-shelf" video camera in a store bathroom March 31, 2008, according to the court filing. The unisex bathroom, which also served as a changing room, was used by employees and customers. Customers and employees were not notifed of the surveillance, according to the court filing.

I wonder if the loss prevention people responsible were fired for placing the camera or just for not hiding it well enough.

They prolly have a video feed to an NSA building somewhere. Walmart will likely come out with home version of the NSA spy kit. Now we know why they've been building so many secret detention centres surrounded with barbed wire. Pretty soon Americans will be able to declare themselves illegal aliens or threats to Homeland Stupidity and simply incarcerate themselves. It will be the most efficient gulag-based economy ever conceived.

No, not the only justification.  Say you had bipolar disorder and flipped your nurse the bird, that's plenty reason enough to throw you in an isolation cell with a camera on you 24/7.

I was talking about WalMart, not about a psychiatric institution.  I don't mean to pry, but...since you've used that example...were you just sharing something about yourself there?

"Associate" is Walmartsprache for "serf".

Yes, I'm an involuntary patient on a psych ward. I've been here since December 12th.  I've written several posts about it but if you want more info you can always PM or email me.

And unlimited internet access is part of the treatment plan?  Clearly I only have a stereotypical view of these facilities with which to imagine the predicament that you've been mentioning.

Well, I'm sorry you've had that experience.  It's happened to people in my own life.  Good luck in eventually getting out of there.

Eventually! my ass.  I'm a free woman as of 9:00 tomorrow morning.  And good thing too.  My Kevorka (sp?) is messing up all the patients, both male and female.  That's the problem with being a Straight Crazy White Woman (TM).

Yah, you got it, Slumberjack.  Internet and TV until 11:00 p.m., then Loxapine injections.  Works every time.  :)

Your stereotype is 100% accurate.

I'm glad they're letting you out then.

They have to.  They can only imprison my body.  My mind has always been and will always be free. Resistance is futile.
