Attempted Murder of Naughty Kurt Westergaard (Cartoonist)
Dispicable...Absolutely dispicable.....
Glad to see it does not make him wilt but instead take courage in anger
An excellent editorial from on this subject.
Who the fuck cares about your phobia. Come out of the shadows dude and embrace your fellow man.

You're just as unpleasant -- and nonsensical -- as you were the other night.
Ok, maybe I'm unpleasant but the non-sensical is shared. Why shouldn't these cartoonists exercise some restraint. What's with the bravado if they really want to make an intellectual point?
Is it a rush to the lowest common denominator?
Why shouldn't these cartoonists exercise some restraint.
Religious adherents are such a rich target for satire...and no religion should be "off limits" for criticism, including Islam.
Perhaps a better question is: "Why shouldn't these fanatics who want to kill people because they offend the fanatics' sensibilities exercise some restraint?"
Because we're killing them? D'OH!!!!
Because we're killing them? D'OH!!!!
Who did Rushdie or the cartoonists kill?
Sven, my antagonist, it's good you keep me in line. You don't get the hate for muslim people? You don't get the propoganda war? I work with lawyers and know you're a smart guy. Why do you always reduce arguments to layman levels like me?
Can you see my point about these cartoonists creating controversy where there was none? The world context in which they "thought" they were being funny?
I'd love to have you for supper Sven, you're good at this but I'm not sure how much you'd enjoy it. All the best Sven, sorry I'm reactive. It's who I am.
I'd love to have you for supper Sven...
That reminds me of the closing line from Silence of the Lambs: "I do wish we could chat longer, but I'm having an old friend for dinner. Bye."

Cute, I'm not not reactiive? Am I?
And damnit, you keep obfuscating...
Can you see my point about these cartoonists creating controversy where there was none?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the cartoons, when originally published, actually created relatively little controversy.
It was only when a couple of Danish imams decided to bring them to the Middle East and make damn sure there was plenty of controversy did the cartoons result in riots, marches attacks on embassies, etc.
Had those imams not WANTED more controversy, there would have been almost none.
that's true, Snert. It was weeks later, when those Imams took a whole set of cartoons to show in the middle east and arouse hatred over them. At first, there was no reaction at all.
Does it really need to be pointed out that Kurt Westergaard ain't no Salman Rushdie?
