You are invited: Jan 23, 1 - 4 pm National wide Rally from Canadians Against Proroguing Parliament

Hi, I am one of the more than 10 thousand members who joined the face book group Canadians Against Proroguing Parliament. I along with many others are organizing a rally on January 23 to protest the Proroguing Parliament by Prime Minister Stephen Harper. We are currently at the stage of planning a nation wide event from 1 - 4 pm. We definitely invite any interested Canadians to join our rally in Toronto.

We are also holding an rally planning meeting at the |Toronto Reference Library on Friday January 8th at 5:15 pm. Any one who is interested in planning our meeting is invited.

The group for Canadian Against Proguing Parliament is http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=260348091419

The face book event for the rally is at

We would appreciate very much if you could spread the event for all Canadians, lend logistic helps to our rally or get involved in any ways.

As far as I know, we need sound equipments, speakers or anyone who can make buttons to give out or signs to give out!

Thank you so much

Sincerely yours

Casey

Anything in the works for Vancouver?

takeitslowly

Yes, N8V_Biker

We are hoping to plan a rally in all major cities in all provinces and terrirtories, but no specific location is being set yet.

We are literally waiting for people with experience to plan a rally in the following

Ottawa, ON

Hamilton, ON

Kitchener-Waterloo, ON

Whitby/Oshawa, ON

Montreal, QC

Winnipeg, MB

Saskatoon, SK

Calgary, AB

Edmonton, AB

Vancouver, BC

Victoria, BC

If you're interested in helping organize a protest in any major city, included the ones listed, let us know!

The details about all the rallies are still being worked out. They are being discussed over here. You need a facebook account to discuss on the forum

One possible place for an indoor rally in Toronto is at the Artscape/Wychwood Barns. It's pretty large and there's lots of overflow room outside.

Troublesome Thomas

There needs to be a followup rally in Vancouver - during the Olympics - in order to bring the international media spotlight back onto Harper's secrecy, lies, and the accountability he seeks to evade by proroguing parliament.

You know what they say about cockroaches and bright lights?

Doughnut

Great to hear about this!

Hi all,

My name is Mara and I'm the editorial intern here at rabble. Part of my job with the site is managing our What's Up events listing, and I'd be really interested in highlighting the rallies that are taking place nationwide once the location, time, other specifics, etc. are set. Can you please e-mail me with details at [email protected] once you've figured this out, and I'll be sure to include them in our listing ASAP?

Great work, guys!
