I can't be there, but I am obligated to thank Michelle for her hard work in making babble one of the sanest and most progressive socio-political public forums in the country. She's a remarkable moderator with a ton of patience and understanding, and I have a strong feeling she will be successful with whatever she chooses to pursue. Thanks Michelle.
Perhaps us babblers who cannot be there to share in the thankful appreciation, could pm maysie or old goat, with our thoughts and sentiments to be read to michelle that evening, like telegrams to weddings? We could all be there in spirit then.
I would just do it, but do not want to burden maysie and old goat if they do not want to do such a thing, so i guess i am asking them if such a thing would be okay with them?

My drinking habits are at two ends of the continuum, of course.
At one end .... sugary mixed drinks such as margaritas, Long Island Ice Teas, etc and vodka coolers (which I will swig out of the bottle) ... at the other end .... straight tequila.
And genstrike, we encourage all babblers in various locations across the country to organize gatherings. Please start a thread and go for it.
Yeah, I would love to see babble gatherings in other areas of the country besides Toronto! I guess since most of us mods are here in the Toronto area (I use that term loosely, Mr. Oshawa), this is where the ones organized by the mods end up. Makes me wish I travelled more! But please do organize them where you are too!

I've been to a couple of the Toronto gatherings and always had a good time; I highly recommend. Unfortunately I'll be out of town on the 27th. All the best Michelle.
