NDP wants alleged violation of Access to Information laws investigated

The federal New Democrats are calling for a formal investigation into allegations of systemic violations of Canada's Access to Information laws by the governing Conservatives.

The NDP filed formal requests Monday with the information commissioner of Canada and the federal director of public prosecutions to launch an investigation into possible violations of access laws after it emerged that at least one political aide and possibly others may have unlawfully prevented information from being released to the public.

"It's important that an investigation be done by both of these individuals into the deteriorating state of transparency and accountability with our government," said NDP MP Bill Siksay. "Canadians need to be assured that our laws are not being violated."

It sounds like being a Tory government minister is a full-time job in coverups and hiding information from the public. It's no wonder they took time out from democracy.

You know it is mind boggling that Canadians are tolerating this, after years of watching bush and Cheney doing it and being hyper critical of their actions.

One can only conclude control of the media, and all the undercover ops truly do work.

Or at any rate, one can only conclude that you WANT them to conclude that.

"undercover ops".  LOLZ!!

Oh and one wonders just where are the educational elite, on this?

I look forward to reading and hearing many of their voices coming forward and condemning it
