London\Ont jobs and weapons

London loves weapons.  And the PM loves making announcements in London.  Gotta wonder if this is a strategy to shoehorn out the only federal Liberal and NDPer in South-Central Ontario, a stronghold of the Cons.

This also brings up similar issues some of us explored in a thread a while back about Ford expanding sport car engine capacity in Windsor: does employment in certain fields outweigh greater social issues.

wow, possibley a 100 jobs, that outta make London thrive...and 100 votes for the CONs perhaps won't do much getting rid of, eh!

"does employment in certain fields outweigh great social issues"

Of course the answer is  "yes, for some".

Yeah, why is Harper announcing this as some great deal?  Tack a zero onto the end of those hundred jobs and maybe his presence makes sense.

More went back to work in the BC forest industry last month than a 100 jobs in London, that is if you do not count how many jobs were recently lost in the BC forest industry.

Of course out here, they were starving people out, in order to come back at them for union wage concessions, to be replaced by "bonuses" if output is high enough andd sales are good enough.

Exactly.  It's bizarre.  Harper has done several appearances in London in the recent year, and it was a big stop on his '08 campaign.

I think he's just bolstering his local MPs while chipping away at Mathyssen and Pearson, and propping up Holder in London-West, a swing\bellweather riding.

Pure politics, showing where his priorities lie.
