A warning not a threat

So if I say to someone - "If I see you sitting on the bench by the city hall again tomorrow you might just end up with a bullet in the head."  Then I add- "this isn't a threat I'm just warning you what happen if you don't listen to me."

Muslim Group Says It Is Warning, Not Threatening, 'South Park' Creators
The group, Revolution Muslim, published its post after a "South Park" episode last week that depicted the founders of various religions, including Moses, Jesus and Buddha, but declined to show the Prophet Muhammad outright and instead represented him as wearing a bear costume.

The post, written by Abu Talhah Al-Amrikee, said that the episode "outright insulted" the Prophet, adding:

We have to warn Matt and Trey that what they are doing is stupid and they will probably wind up like Theo Van Gogh for airing this show. This is not a threat, but a warning of the reality of what will likely happen to them.

I guess by saying someone else will kill you - it is not exactly a threat but if they stone or parker did end up dead - this group is setting themelves up as prime suspects.

forgot about the first post rule - I hope it's clear what is quoted and what I wrote.

Not sure if any Buddhists or Jewish groups also "warned" them about blaspheming their holy figures.  Something tells me the Pope for one has bigger problems than a cartoon show on his mind right now.

I'd be more concerned with the teabaggers direct threats.  Happy, you caught one.

So being progressive in yr mind is standing up for religious nutters and standing against satire and free expression?  Whatever.

I didn't invite you into my mind so stop pretending you speak on my behalf.  Putting words in my mouth is not freedom of expression.  But then if you are following the tea baggers that seems to be a common right wing tactic these days.  Did this reporter also carry the story about the birth certificate when it first broke.  How about the death panels was there much in the CNN news about them.

Freedom of expression my ass.

Fidel

Have South Park satirists made any real effort to insult fascist cosmetic governments or the corporatocracy in their own country? Because I'd like to bet that if they did that on a constant basis, they'd be pulled off the air faster than they can say, Bill Maher is a pseudo-lefty, so what was all that about anyway?

VGE, Islamofearmongering is generally frowned on around here.  There's a tonne of wasted internet space for that already.

C'mon, South Park is makes fun of all religion. Look at the way they portray Jesus. I'm with VG. They're nutters. Religious nutters. And they stand as a good example of why all fundamentalists are loopy. And, yeah, Fidel. They make fun of everyone. For some wildy politically incorrect humour, try Team America: World Police.

I couldn't say it better myself.

VGE, this thread is offensive and Islamophobic. I'm closing it and you get a week off.
