Lots of pollice in riot gear were RIGHT THERE, but they'd been ordered (apparently) to leave the Black Bloc alone. I don't agree with a lot of the protesters' views, but there's no denying that this was a large-scale abuse of rights. Apparently there is history of police using provocateurs in previous summits and the CBC exposed one in the 2007 Montebello summit. WOW is all I got to say!
