I have a friend in Ontario that does a lot of reloading, he saves him a lot in purchasing ammo. He loads both pistol and rifle cartridges.
I would like to reload those old odd cartridges like 50-90, 45-70 or .450 Boxer.

Come now, Boom Boom, your examples are activity-oriented. This thread is about implements, without necessarily limiting their use. Proper comparisons would be:
- Daggers & Handles discussion group
- Rockets & Fuel forum
- People and Poison
- Nukes for Newbies
and so on. In each case, there are legitimate subsistence and recreational uses, and of course bad people will always exist and use whatever tools are ready to hand.
Remember, nukes didn't kill 100,000 Hiroshima residents - Paul Tibbets did.

More people die in pool accidents than in shootings in this country, and far more people are stabbed than shot. I believe the left should learn all there is to know about firearms. Why should the right have a monopoly in this regard. Because of the often visceral distance that separates left from right in practically all matters, the residual disgust that people feel toward weapons can only be overcome through handling them and realizing that unlike people and governments who would resort to their use as a first option, they are inanimate objects that are no more dangerous than the person handling them. For the left, the issue should involve making their use unnecessary, which at this juncture should not involve total disarmament. The sort of pacifism which in theory suggests that weapons be shunned and voluntarily turned over to a corporate security state already bristling with weapons is nothing short of voluntary impotence and a voluntary police action.
