Why do you think that about three-quarters of the people who voted for Miller in 2006 don't want to vote for his handpicked successor?
Maybe they fell for the trap that the Toronto Star set out for them by believing Smitherman was the man to beat and somehow on their team and "less bad" than Ford or John Tory?
Just this year, we've seen evidence that people can get around the media and that polls can change dramatically in places like Calgary, Winnipeg, and Ottawa. Apparently Toronto hasn't got the message. Too bad, you will get what you vote for.
