Wait a minute. Didn't Afghanistan used to be, prior to the American invasion, this country full of fierce and mythical warriors that no foreign invader could ever conquer? I mean, I must have heard about 3000 times how they drove out the British (twice) and the Russians, and with the aid of their "trusty Kalishnikov's" (actual babble quote) they would do the same to the Yanks.

Didn't they say the same thing in Gulf War 1? Iraq had, at the time, after all, the world's fourth largest army, and I can recall pundit after pundit going on about how, the casualties the US used to see each week in Vietnam, they were going to see each day in Iraq.
If there is nothing to hide, then why has Saddam refused the inspectors for years when admitting them would have cleared the air immediately AND gotten the sanctions lifted?
This is a man who is capable of paving over live human beings (Kurds) with asphalt. He has started muliple wars, invaded his neighbors and threatened to annihilate Israel. Iraq is linked conclusively with the first WTC bombing, and suspected in hundereds of terrorist incidents before and after. As for "Daddy", well Saddam tried to assassinate George Sr. Wouldn't you be at least a tad pissed off at the person who tried to off one of your parents?
Let me ask you this: why are you so eager to take Saddam's side rather than believe what is supposed to be your "closest ally"? How would you feel if we questioned your every move, doubted your honesty, and denounced you in front of the whole world on a regular basis? Just watching Shadow Company right now, about private military companies in Iraq and elsewhere.
USG spent up to $25,000/month per man to keep these units in Iraq. Companies were awarded contracts with no bidding process. Wonder where the $3 trillion US debt came from?
