So... what's up old friend? How's the struggle on the Rabble/Babble board anyway?
So! What's up Unionist....
A little slow, lately. I've been spending too much time in struggle on this rival board - called "Real Life".
And you?
People want me to watch this for some reason. I really don't get it. Mildly amusing but a keeper? I dunno.
Barbara walks on at the end. I'm a little verklempt after that. Tawk amungst y'selves.
As soon as the clip started, I thought about Joanne Worley right away.
A quick google found this:

Sock it to me, but I remember that "Carbutater" skit from when I was about eight years old!
So how you guys doing?
We have a new mayor... maybe you heard. First up! Ford takes on the police union! Heh! This should be good.
I read somewhere that Ford also wants to contract out garbage collection? And he says the garbage worker's union can put in a bid, too? Where in hell did this guy come from? Sweet Jesus!
The garbage workers should bid on policing contracts.
Didn't you get that backwards, KenS?
A good mayor should lead by example. I'm referring to garbage collection.
Unfortunately his mouth is the greatest purveyor of it, Unionist.
First up! Ford takes on the police union! Heh!
If that really happens, you could sell tickets.
Could anything be called thread drift here?
I'll try. And a good enough place for this since Babble's nerds would be over-represented here.
Did anyone notice that BabbleTime is now Atlantic Time. Finally, the centre of the universe stumbles in on me.
Not quite sure when that happened. Recently anyway.
I always liked it when we were on Alaska Time. For the longest time we've been on that old standard of the centre of the universe. Boring.
Are these wanderings across time zones deliberate? Or are the the inadvertent outcome of doing some tinkering with the site?
I did notice and thought it was high-time we changed the centre of the Universe (tm)
Let's keep it this way until we spring forward.
Signed,
Babble Nerd Caissa
I'd suggest babble switch to CST (Constant Saskatchewan Time), but the idea of such a switch itself goes against our bedrock principles.
We have a new mayor... maybe you heard.
Democrat or Republican? You foreigners all look alike.
You could start a brave new new calendar, in which this is Year One of Our Ford.
You foreigners all look alike.
And how is a person supposed to find your way around without grain elevators?
It struck me at some point in the campaign that Ford looked like Winnie The Pooh. Maybe he's sort of an evil twin.

Didn't Huxley use "After Ford" in Brave New World?
That would be the brave new allusion, yes.
Hey, Cueball and Al-Q, come on back for a visit!
We know where Al-Q hangs out..but it seems like Cueball fell off entirely from this puny little world we inhabit.
Ahh cheer up Caissa. Your life is here...with us.
Maybe Cueball discovered that legendary place called "a Life.' Somehow I can't seem to find one.
Life is what you make of it, or something.
Ahh cheer up Caissa. Your life is here...with us.
Oh dear.
It would be nice if both of those fellows came back. I don't see it, though.
I like to think that in Al-Q's case, it's likely because he hasn't had much of a chance to miss the ones he'd likely miss the most..because we post sometimes at enmasse. As for Cueball, I have no idea why he wouldn't have missed us by now. Sniff.
Life is a highway.
Seriously though, real life is on the internet. Don't believe me? Just google it.
