I think he did watch that, and that is why he made his response. I watched it too. It seems pretty naive really. For example, the idea that combat reports from Iraq would give an accurate figure of the number of dead civilians is plainly absurd. Combat reports are official documents, and first and foremost they will cover up any illegal actions by those who write the reports, which is the front line officers.

What they do tell us is that 66,000 civilians have been reported killed by front line officers. That means nothing in terms of an accurate count of the number of civilians killed. So, the fact that this number might not tally with other estimates of war dead that are higher, in no way proves that Wikileaks is giving out disinformation, because the disinformation begins with the first combat report.

What it does tell us is that at least that number of civilians have been killed. And that official number has never been reported. And that is important.

I think the only thing that would satisfy the guy who made that video is a cable that went something like this...

"Herr Rice... I mean Ms. Rice... we can now confirm that our devilish plan to kill Iraqi children through sanctions has wiped out at least a million Iraqis. Muhahhahah! Congratulations all around, I will be sending a carbon copy of this report to our master in Jerusalem."

Look. I could spend a few hours picking apart that video. But the example I gave is just one example of the problems with the logic, and factuality.

You really have high expectations for the intelligence services if you expect them to enforce the law. Get a grip. You seem to be someone who actually expected something from the government of the USA. The government of the USA, the police, the FBI, the intelligence services are corrupt bureaucracies and have been for years. This is not news. They aren't going to arrest anyone, and "Israel made them do it", doesn't cut it with me.
