Another religious fanatic xenophobe who hates Jews. This is news?

By the way, do we have a similar phony "apology" from the racist xenophobe rabbis who issued a fatwa against renting to Arabs?

Religion is wonderful. It provides you solace and spiritual comfort while you send your kids out to kill the enemy.

If the history of this sort of hasbara campaign has taught us anything, the Israeli Air Force is probably planning a bombing run on Athens as we speak.

I fully concur with unionist. Those rabidly racist Rabbis are in the same league with this Jew-hating Greek religious leader. Each deserves to be properly condemned.

As for al-Qa'bong, well while one may given the time of year, forgive him his excesses, it would have done him better to condemn and walk away.

al-Qa'bong

Oh lighten up; and what are you doing in a thread that isn't about George Galloway?

The man considered the greatest rabbi in the world today, Rabbi Yosef Shalom Eliashiv, has already denounced them, saying that some rabbis "should have their pens taken away", given the willingness to sign on to stupid edicts like this. Following Rav Eliashiv's refusal to endorse the prohibition on selling homes t Arabs, many of the original rabbis withdrew their own names from it.

Someone is listening.

Quote:

After a rabbis' letter instructing Jews to not sell or rent apartments to Arabs, racist behavior reaches new low: An organization called Jews for a Jewish Bat Yam is expected to protest on Monday against the "assimilation of young Jewish women with Arabs living in the city or in nearby Jaffa."

The protest will be held around 7:30 pm near the Bat Yam mall, not far from the police station. The organizers are also expected to show support for the controversial rabbis' letter.

"It's a local organization of Bat Yam residents, because the public is tired of so many Arabs going out with Jewish girls," explained one of the organizers, Bentzi Gufstein. "In addition to the protest, we will hand out pamphlets explain the situation."

al-Q'abong infers that because another extremist group of "Rabbis"engages in racist behaviour that "someone is listening". Its a wrong inference to make. Its similar to suggesting that many Imams support extremism because a few engage in extremist rhetoric or that numerous Catholic Priests support pedophelia because a few have been thankfully exposed.

Dodger718 makes the correct point yet al-Q'a bong, as a poster has already pointed out, seems to look for the dark clouds almost anything to expose Israel in the way he wishes it pictured.

Stargazer

bet you won't find MCsuared asking you to take such a nuanced position on Hamas. Funny how they can understand the intricacies involved in his posts defending the rabbis, but misses the similarities completely.

For every single person who screams - oh, look at Hamas, look what they said! These same people completely, willingly and deliberately let vile racism from viscous rabbi's slide.

Stargazer, these nice people have opened this thread, and continue to post in it, for one sole reason: They're trawling for anti-semitic comments. That's their mission. They don't understand that the worst anti-semites, the worst enemies of the Jews, the greatest threat to the existence of the Jewish people in the world today, are the ruling circles of Israel and their backers in Washington, Ottawa, London, and the like.

Stargazer

Well then, I have to say that the Matzo balls I had for Hanukkah were absolutely horrible. No flavour at all.

I hope that does it.

I can't let that go without a hearty belly-laugh.

Wasn't Eliashiv the dude that forbade Jews from approaching the Western Wall on shabbat, because he said their movements would activate security cameras, thereby violating the injunction against lighting a fire?

I wonder what he thinks of GPS satellites? A Jew can't leave home these days without incurring the wrath of the Almighty, as parsed by Eliashiv!

Talmid chacham, my tukhis. He's a talmid shoteh in my book.

As a vegetarian, I must protest this cruelty being done to herds of innocent matzohs.

Nobody is "defending" what the rabbis did. We're saying not to confuse what these rabbis wrote with Jewish law and pointing out that rabbis far more respected than they are have denounced their comments. Those rabbis deserve to be rebuked and they have been. By far greater Jewish authorities than you'll find on a message board.

Stargazer

My point was, by the exact same principles you can and should apply this to Hamas, yet somehow such a nuanced position rarely occurs (not just from you, from anyone).
