Space opera is a fairly well defined genre. Likewise, the grungy application of the sci-fi/speculative trope has generated super cool genres like cyber, steam and space punk. I mean, Neuromancer is one of my fave books ever.

I love LRondHubbordz crappy space opera, that guy wrote some hilarious stuff. Gotta give it to the evil creep. But don't you like STAR WARS? It is a quintessential space opera. And like, so much of it slips into comic books and so much stuff. Hell, even Mobile Suit: Gundam and lots of Japanese sci-fi has major elements of space opera.

So, in short, don't be a hater, Fidel. I bet Castro is all about space opera. In fact, I think I'll dial up the TroBro (we have nicknames for each other) and tell him about some riceroni jabroni who doesn't enjoy the joys of a well made space opera.
