Hi folks. Newly minted member here disheartened by the triumph of the Tories. Really hating first-past-the-post electoral systems right now.

I am heartened by the NDP's fortunes. I am also glad that Québéc has stopped stomping around in the wilderness and decided to re-engage in the rest of Canada. They may even have a serious go at redefining progressivism in our great country and offer not only an alternative, but the antidote.

Anyway, I was just kidding about the whole 'bow down before me' thingy. I use hubris and lack of shame as tools to keep my tears from showing. And it's cheaper than booze.

I've decided that now it's time to get off my ass and do something about what is surely going to be 4 and a half years of major suckage in this country. So here I am, at the very least, ready to absorb what it is there we can do.

Wow, tough crowd.

And no, I don't think the RoC was/is lost in the neo-con wilderness vs. Québec. Québec currently has its own woes on that front, so we've all been given the rubber glove.

I take comfort in the fact we are not alone.
