Such an analysis bears no connection to reality, and is just leftist hysterics.
If Harper goes too far, it will drive even more Quebecers to the NDP.
The only thing that will drive Quebec to another referendum is if the NDP starts the process of constitutional renewal and screws it up, humiliating Quebec and reviving the sense of grievance.
The way Layton has talked about incremental, practical steps on the constitution though, I don't expect that to happen.
