Are PMs broken?

Not "Prime Ministers" - we already know about him...

Unionist

For the past couple weeks, every time I send a PM, I get a pleasant-looking page that looks something like this:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function subscriptions_hold() in /var/www/rabble/rabble.ca/sites/all/modules/privatemsg/pm_subscriptions/pm_subscriptions.module on line 106

I believe the PM goes through, but not sure. Unless it's only me, please have our noble tech deities look into this.

Caissa

The Pm does go through although the error message is disconcerting.

Yes, PMs go through. But the error message isn't the most beautiful thing. "We" are looking into it.

Unionist

And we most graciously await your pleasure.

Tommy_Paine

Yes, there's nothing like hardly ever using this feature, then needing to use it, and then coming across as some kind of dolt because you sent the same message three times......

:)

Slumberjack

In my case I thought they really wanted to make a point.  So it just the one fuck then.

To say nothing of signing in and reading "You have 5 new private messages", clapping my hands with glee at my immense popularity, and then discovering they're all duplicates.

Papal Bull are you flirting with me?

I have not discussed Pon farr in more than 2 consecutive posts in this thread. It is entirely plausible that I am flirting with you. Innocent

Believe me, based on the kind of PMs I get, they are nothing to write home about. "Great job," "Thanks for all your hard work," "How do you do this job and maintain such a sunny outlook on life," etc. Gawd, I get it already. Sheesh.

Catchfire obviously needs some variety in his PM box. I must remember to make the effort to write to him, soon.

Wow. I post inappropriately late at night sometimes. I did have a slight fever yesterday. Good thing I didn't send any private messages. Sorry, PB.

P.S. *waves to bagkitty

I tried to send a PM tonight (to Unionist)...got the same thing.

Unionist

I received your PM (twice, actually) and responded (once - for the sake of the environment) - did you get it?

oldgoat

That fatal error thing shows up, but the message goes through anyway.  Just ignore it.  Like most dieties, our tech deities operate within a time frame of their own.  I'm sure it will be fixed eventually.

Unionist

Thankfully, our tech deities are omnipleasant.

Fidel

I'm sure Stephen Harper has something to do with this.

Uh oh justvsaw this, sorry Rebecca West and Oldgoat I guess she got it!

Tommy_Paine

I guess our P.M.'s are the last scoundrel of our Refuge.

Tried sicking GOD on them?

George Victor

I just replied to a PM but was told that the webpage had expired so it is very unlikely that Rebecca will receive my reply.

Hey everyone, to reiterate, the PM gets sent despite the error message. Not ideal, of course, but functional. Here's what our techies have to say about it:

Quote:
It seems similar to some other issues happening recently, which are occurring because of the aggressive caching and work allan has done to speed up the site.

We are putting all our rabble energy at the moment into trying to get this big upgrade done that hopefully will fix a lot of the issues.

Hope that clarifies things a bit.

George Victor

A reply to the PM would be even more reassuring.

MegB

You guys are so funny.

Yeah, we're trying to make the site better, which of course involves a lot of it getting worse, for a while.  Patience please, we have a lot of volunteer hours logged here to make rabble/babble possible.
