Yemen: Behind Al-Qaeda Scenarios, An Unfolding Stealth Agenda - by F William Engdahl

http://www.voltairenet.org/article169032.html

"In addition to its geopolitical position as a major global oil transit chokepoint, Yemen is reported to hold some of the world's greatest untapped oil reserves. Yemen's Masila Basin and Shabwa Basin are reported by international oil companies to contain 'world class discoveries.' Some 15 years ago I was told in a private meeting with a well informed Washington insider that Yemen contained 'enough undeveloped oil to fill the oil demand of the entire world for the next 50 years.'

Perhaps there is more to Washington's recent Yemen concern than a rag-tag al Qaeda whose very existence as a global terror organization has been doubted by seasoned Islamic experts.."

[url=http://www.edmontonjournal.com/business/Greater+military+export+oversigh... military export oversight needed: NDP[/url]

Quote:
Almost $1.1 million worth of military goods were exported to Yemen in the reporting period. Most of those exports were aircraft, unmanned airborne vehicles and other aircraft equipment "specially designed or modified for military use."

Another $80,000 was dedicated to "specialized equipment for military training or for simulating military scenarios," while less than $1,000 was exported to Yemen for "ammunition and fuse-setting devices, and specially designed components."

Sounds like our corrupt stooges are guilty of helping out an oppressive regime in Yemen. Just another colonial administrative task delegated to them from Warshington apparently.

'Al Qaeda Bogeyman Of Choice For West'

http://www.presstv.ir/detail/172421.html

"Thousands of demonstrators have once again taken to the streets across Yemen to call for political reforms in the country and the resignation of President Ali Abdullah.

'Al Qaeda is the buzzword to justify any kind of criminal activity imaginable from military intervention to brutal suppression of a genuinely peaceful and popular revolt against a corrupt and completely bankrupt regime, and of course the Saudis in particular have carried out a whole series of brutal campaigns violating the border of Yemen over a long period of time using this al-Qaeda pretext.."

The speaker of Yemen's upper house of parliament has died of injuries from an assassination attempt on President Ali Abdullah Saleh in June.

Abdulaziz Abdulghani is the first senior politician to die as a result of the explosion at Mr Saleh's compound.

In a TV address last week, Mr Saleh said would return to Sanaa "soon" from Riyadh, where he and several aides are receiving medical treatment

"A Spanish firefighter is facing a four-year suspension from his job for refusal to supervise the shipment of 4,000 tons of munitions to Saudi Arabia, believing the armaments could facilitate more war crimes in Yemen. Inazio Robles, according to the report, said his conscience would not allow him to help with the delivery."

Pity no such qualms of conscience seem to have afflicted Canadian General Dynamics  LAV workers in London...

In Yemen, Shocked To His Bones

http://www.counterpunch.org/2017/05/05/in-yemen-shocked-to-his-bones/

"Jan Egeland, who heads the Norweigan Refugee Council (NRC) says that seven million Yemeni people are on the brink of famine. 'I am shocked to my bones', said Egeland, following a five day visit to Yeman.

'The world is letting 7 million men, women and children slowly but surely be engulfed...' Egeland blames this catastrophe on 'men with guns and power in regional and international capitals who undermine every effort to avert an extremely predictable famine, as well as the collapse of health and educational services for millions of children.

Egeland stresses the vital importance of keeping humanitarian aid flowing through Hodeida, a port which stands mere days or hours from destruction..."
