That article represents an indictment of eco-capitalism - an attempt to have private enterprise manage the green economy, with little or no regulation by government.
It recognizes that the environmental problems associated with the production and disposal of solar energy equipment are [b]"fairly manageable in and of themselves"[/b], but that the reasons they are not being managed properly are social, political, and economic.
That's why the environmental crisis requires not just technological fixes, but a thoroughgoing revolution in the way societies live, work, create wealth, and interact with nature.
