Yeah...my self-imposed suspension is finished.  Still wish that Malcolm and OO and all the others were back!

oh man, that gretzky parody is brutal.  anyway, dewar is done.  the reverberations of this debate will make it clear that he's basically unqualified to be leader, winnowing the race to the nash-mulcair-topp contest that we on rabble have been discussing for several weeks now.

I just finished watching the debate.  I would add Niki to your putative list - she far outperformed Peggy, in my view.

Peggy's French was adequate but her delivery was somewhat plodding and hesitant.  Niki's on the other hand was far more fluid and precise.  It was also my impression that Niki made far fewer grammatical errors than did Brian - the number of times he got the gender of his nouns wrong (e.g. "la but", instead of "le" etc) was rather surprising.  That said, these are rather minor errors - his French is still very good.

From my perspective, Nathan's and Martin's French is coming along, but still not quite there - they only shone in comparison to Dewar.

Overall, my view of the tiers in terms of the French debates would be 1 - Mulcair; 2 - Topp/Ashton; 3 - Nash; Not good enough - Singh, Cullen, Dewar.
