Israel Embassy Bombing Targets Iran-India Oil Trade

"A US hired analyst says after the bomb targeting the Israeli embassy in New Delhi, India will come under mounting pressure to reconsider its decision to import oil from Iran. Lisa Curtis, a well known US expert on South Asian issues, added that following the attack, 'Indian will find it increasingly difficult to placate both Iran, on the one hand, and the US and Israel on the other.."

Iran Dismisses Israeli Regime Change Claims as Nonsense (and vid)

"Speaking to reporters after a meeting with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Tuesday, Silvan Shalom claimed that Iran wants to revive the Persian Empire and once again become a major superpower. 'They would like to change the types of regimes in the Middle East, they would like to take control of all oil fields in the Middle East, and to have a nuclear bomb,' he added.

Reacting to Shalom's remarks, Iran's permanent representative to the UN Mohammad Khazaei said that Iran's religious beliefs and constitution do not allow the country to build nuclear weapons. 'According to our religious beliefs and the constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran and also a clear Fatwa by the Leader, any use or production of nuclear weapons or any kind of mass destruction weapons, are prohibited by law and by religion, he added.

The diplomat said adherence to Islam and the Iranian Constitution are two reasons why the Islamic Republic would never produce, stockpile or transfer nuclear weapons..."

US Iranian Threat Speculation Readying Populace For War

http://rt.com/news/terror-new-york-iran-439/

"The US and Israel are claiming that New York could be prime real estate for an Iranian terror attack. But is it a genuine wish to warn Americans of a real threat, or just a fear campaign meant to prepare the population for war with Iran?

On Tuesday, Michael Silber, the New York Police Department's director for intelligence analysis, called Iran a 'front-burner issue', adding 'I hesitate to say it's No. 1, because we don't want to ignore the other threats, but right now it's essentially No.1'

Silber also published an opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal, headlined 'The Iranian Threat To New York City'..."

I wonder why that is?

Well for one thing you have zero evidence for it other than what Ehud Barak and mossad have claimed. And like the Gladio ringleaders, they feel no obligation to reveal to you or the world public in general their alleged evidence for what are extraordinary claims of terrorism.

I think the Gladio Gang's sword play in Thailand, India, and Georgia is a more plausible explanation given the way they tend to falsify reports of everything from Iraqi WMD to even less credible plots involving shampoo and panty bombers in recent years.

And did the ringleaders in Warshington not recently allege that they had uncovered an Iranian plot to assassinate Saudi Arabia's ambassador in Washington?  And I'm sure it wasn't just I who lol'd at the USA's outlandish tale of an Iranian used car salesman no less who allegedly conspired with a Mexican drug cartel to bid on the hit at a restaurant in Warshington.

What Washington and Tel Aviv are trying to sell you are basically conspiracy theories, Bec. Conspiracy theories!

The question, Bec, is not whether you believe that wild and zany story - the question is: why would you want to? Come on, Bec, we want to laugh with you on this one.

Forgetting Fidel for the moment, there are, in common parlance, "conspiracies" and "conspiracy theories"--with the dismissive "conspiracy theories" being applied to improbable explanations for events.

By that definition, the contention that Iranian Government, or the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, are behind the the series of inefficient bombings (or the alleged plot to assassinate Saudis on US soil) amounts to "conspiracy theory" regardless of the number of "news sources" that promote it.

Quote:
Iran seems an unlikely culprit for the attacks on Israeli diplomats

Arshin Adib-Moghaddam
guardian.co.uk, Wednesday 15 February 2012 20.00 GMT

.... It is hard to imagine that the Iranian government would send Iranian operatives to friendly countries, completely equipped with Iranian money and passports – making the case against them as obvious as possible.

If the Iranian Revolutionary Guards are as professional, highly trained and politically savvy as we have been told repeatedly by Israeli politicians... then why would they launch such a clumsy and self-defeating operation?
....
And why India, Georgia and Thailand, three countries that Iran has had cordial relations with during a period when Iran is facing increasing sanctions spearheaded by the United States? A few days ago, India agreed a rupee-based oil and gas deal with Iran and resisted US pressures to join the western boycott of the Iranian energy sector.... What would be the motive for damaging relations with one of Iran's major trading partners and regional heavyweights?...

first, no one here can claim to actually know what's going on with the bombings.  it's all speculation at this point.

some things to consider:

the same type of magnetic bomb used against the iranian scientists was apparently being used in the most recent attacks.

There's nothing yet that shows these people were, even though they are iranian, working for the Iranian government/military and not on their own accord.  They were certainly amateur enough to have been going it alone.

Iran has signalled it will meet force with force in recent speeches by the president.  appeared to be more about conventional war but who knows.

The important thing is that if this is becoming a terrorist or proxy war that it was most certainly the US/Israel that cast the first stone with multiple terrorist attacks, not to mention the threats, sanctions, etc.

NDPP

As a result of this, India, a major customer of Iran's oil and one prepared to spurn the embargo as well, is now reconsidering. To determine who was responsible for these ridiculous bombings, one must first ask the question: Who gains? The answer certainly isn't Iran. This has got the fingerprints of CIA/Mossad all over it.

Jeff Wells has an good essay on how Italian army intelligence played a key role in the bogus Nigerian yellowcake scam.

David Guyatt has written excellent articles on Operation Gladio and the OSS/CIA's reconstruction of Himmler's SS after the war.

And Jane Franklin's essay on America's war of terrorism against Cuba is also revealing. If NATO countries were at all concerned about arresting known terrorists, they might consider storming the beaches of Miami and Fort Lauderdale, because America has been a safe sanctuary for some of Latin America's most bloodthirsty terrorists and U.S.-backed dictators over the last several decades.

There are certain established patterns for encouraging and fomenting terrorism that are part of the historical record that I think are unique to certain countries, yes. Iran is not one of those countries, Bec. Iran has certainly been a victim of the strategy of tension and foreign interventions, but Iran is not a significant exporter of terrorism in comparison to certain imperialist countries we are all familiar with.

They lied their way into Yugoslavia. They lied their way into Afghanistan and Iraq. They lied their way into Libya. Warfiteering is serious business, Bec. It's a lot more profitable than ordinary capitalism. When profit margins for war are anywhere from 300% to 1000%, the war planning department will tend to pull out all the stops in guaranteeing a constant state of war in some country or another. And our purpose in life as consumers of war propaganda is to absorb the Orwellian doublespeak and to think of millions of Afghans, Iraqis, Libyans, Syrians and Iranians as simply "unpeople."  Millions are exterminated and typically in order to remove one single person from power whom the Gladio Gang isn't getting along with for some reason or another that is unrelated to their stated goals in these far away countries. They're lying to us, Bec. Just say no to the war propaganda, please.

US Wants SWIFT War on Iran  -  by Pepe Escobar

"..Yet the vultures, jackals and hyenas of regime change/war can never be appeased in their sanctions lust. The US is now forcing the EU to cut off Iran from Brussels-based SWIFT -- the independent telecom mechanism/clearinghouse used by every bank in the world to exchange financial data. Iran's Central Bank itself may become a victim.

Then there's the stupid argument that the recent bombings and failed bombings in Delhi, Georgia and Bangkok represent Tehran's retaliation for the murder of five civilian nuclear scientists in Iran. If and when Tehran decides to target Israeli interests, it may be able to do it closer to home, and it has the competent operatives to do it without a trace.

The notion that Tehran would send Iranian agents to friendly Asian countries such as India and Thailand and in the case of the Three Stooges in Bangkok, openly displaying their passports and even rials - is ludicrous beyond belief. These are patsies; the question is to find out who's manipulating them.

If the Washington/Tel Aviv promoted hysteria is almost at fever pitch, wait for March 20, when the Iranian oil bourse will start trading oil in other currencies apart from the US dollar..."

I disagree, and to be honest with you I find that a bit to simplistic. Iran gains by showing Israel it will strike back the same way it is attacked. I don't care what PressTV or a bunch of bloggers on the internet say; I just find it hard to believe Iran won't retaliate back on Israel for killing its scientists. As for the ridiculousness or the armature nature of the attacks as you've said; the CIA and Mossad have bouched operations like this before, why wouldn't the Iranians (in Thiland) be any different? Nobody is ten feet tall and everyone screws up every now and then.

At least they caught three of the bombers in Thailand. We'll know soon enough whom they were working for and wha thelp they had.

http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=29343

" A recent series of polls guageing US public opinion on Iran and its nuclear program shed light on the enduring strength of the American propaganda machine. According to a recent YouGov survey, an astonishing 64% of Americans currently believe 'Iran is most likely enriching uranium to build a nuclear weapon.'

Yet, when YouGov speculated 'Suppose a number of countries decided to take action against Iran in order to stop Iran acquiring a nuclear weapon,' 44% of Americans stated they would support bombing Iran's nuclear installations. A total of 70% also supported increasing economic sanctions.

It is hard to imagine though, just how much harsher economic sanctions could really get. For instance, according to Gallup, a staggering 48% of Iranians reported that there were times in the past year when they did not have emough money to buy food for their families.

But then again, starving an entire nation for geopolitical ends  rarely registers much concern within the US.."

Nah, self-defense, US/Israel/Harper style:

Warships sail to Syria
By M K Bhadrakumar

A flotilla of Iranian warships crossed the Suez Canal and docked at the Syrian port of Tartus on Saturday. Iran's Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi said the mission displays Iran's "might" despite 30 years of relentless sanctions.

The flotilla comprised the 18th Fleet of the Iranian navy. The warships would hold exercises and will "train Syrian naval forces under an agreement signed between Tehran and Damascus one year ago".

The influential cleric and deputy chairman of the Majlis' (parliament's" National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, Hossein Ebrahimi said:

"The presence of Iran and Russia's flotillas along the Syrian coasts has a clear message against the United States' possible adventurism. In case of any US strategic mistake in Syria, there is a possibility that Iran, Russia and a number of other countries will give a crushing response to the US."

The activities of the Iranian warships at Tartus (which is also used by the Russian navy) will be keenly watched by the regional countries - Turkey, Jordan, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, in particular. Unconfirmed reports appeared recently that veterans of Iran's Qods Force (a special unit of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps) might be dispatched to Syria to assist the regime.

quote:

Egypt never allowed Iranian warships to cross the Suez until February last year following the overthrow of the Hosni Mubarak regime when, undeterred by the diplomatic pressure from the US and threatening noises from Israel, Cairo allowed an Iranian destroyer to pass through. Israel called it a "provocation".

But since then, Egypt has been in turmoil and the initial enthusiasm for normalization of ties with Tehran has somewhat waned even as Egypt became dependent on financial help from Saudi Arabia and other Sunni Arab monarchies of the Persian Gulf.

Thus, the permission given to an entire Iranian fleet to cross the Suez last weekend signifies not only Egypt's thinking toward Iran but also the growing complexities and unpredictability of its relations with the US.....
