And didn't the moderator of the last debate mention that CPAC would have live coverage the weekend of the convention?

Do I have to spend all day on the computer? Do I have to be watching the convention online?
I assume the convention will be on CPAC, for those who do not have a comfortable chair at their desktop. Does anyone know for sure?
I think that the CTV and CBC news channels will also be broadcasting live, although I'm not sure if their coverage will be continuos. (Just the ballots and I guess they'll show the speeches on Saturday.
Does CPAC not have their own TV station all over the country? They do out here in NS.

I just felt too "meh" about the other candidates to rank them. I had been thinking of putting Topp as third choice, but I figured his campaign was "too negative", and I figure we need a leader who is an MP, with a seat in the House, now. Peggy was also an option, but I really just figure she is way too much like the "same old traditional NDP", without a real spark (although she does come across as likable). My second choice was Mulcair, even though I have a lot of reservations. I think he is perhaps a "risky" choice in some ways, but I'd rather take that risk than just see the NDP wither away back to 4th party irrelevance under a "safer" more "old line" choice (like we had leading up to Layton).
I really do hope we choose Nathan Cullen for leader, as I think he's the best choice overall and I think his leadership style is most likely to win over those who are not currently supporters.

The top three were actually the order I voted in. I voted Mulcair, Cullen, and Ashton, then,the rest. I can't help but wonder if Ashton will do better then expected at convention. I hope so because I like alot of her ideas.
It's telling that Mulcair's support on babble is about = Ashton + Nash + Topp. And Mulcair + Cullen > Ashton + Nash + Topp.
(I say that, where some of the opinion on Babble is that Ashton/Nash/Topp represent a protection of the NDP's traditional values, while Cullen and Mulcair represent some kind of reform.)
Babble is pretty much the only place I've heard even a few voices cry out for "anybody but Mulcair". If Mulcair can win here, he's probably going to win out there with more casual members.
The only possibility otherwise is if there are a TON of people following the convention online, and something truly heroic happens to sway people.

I just voted Romeo Saganash. Still gutted that he is not running anymore. For the second round, I am still undecided between Tom and Nathan. Had a pretty nice chat with Nathan tonight. We talked about how his first priority if he is getting elected as leader would be to reach out Tom to make sure he would still play a central and major role for the NPD. Plus nathan would get into a major media tour in Quebec and get on Tout le monde en parle. He would also set a mentoring system between the rookie new mps and the more experienced ones to help them get roots in their own communities and a few other things.
I'm not sure if I'll ever reveal who I voted for on all four ballots. I am glad though that I waited until the convention to vote, despite all its problems. I don't think I was ever going to support any of the candidates 100%, so waiting until I had as much information as I could was a good thing for me.
oh, and I'm sorry for bumping this thread, it's just that I've been away for so long (a weeek! gosh things sure look different!), I'm not sure where else to put it.
