His licence was suspended in 2010, hence the thread title.

Twitterverse says he has just received a total sentence of 5 years.

CBC report confirms that.

I hope the victims have standing for a civil suit -- against both the Alberta government/justice ministry and the "professional" Alberta Psychiatric Association.

Well better late than never. Erica Levin has been found guilty of attempting to bribe a juror in her spouse's trial. Sentencing should take place in about a month.

Still waiting to hear if Jason Kenney has anything to say about a permanent return visit to his country of origin at the end of whatever sentence is imposed.

Dr Levin emigrated to Canada at about the time he was warned by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in South Africa that he would be named as an abuser of human rights.

Also still waiting to hear how the Crown is going to handle the charges that the jury could not reach a consensus on -- as well as word on how the attempt to bribe one of the jurors by Erica Levin is going to be handled.

And I missed this story in April:

[url=http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/convicted-court-psychiatrist-aubre... court psychiatrist Aubrey Levin's appeal denied[/url]

Quote:

Levin was given a five-year prison sentence.

With Levin's appeal dismissed, he now has 48 hours to turn himself in.

And he's been in ever since.

Supreme Court has refused to hear Levin's appeal. Apparently he is actually going to have to serve his sentence. Will update this thread again when news becomes available about the sentencing for Erica Levin's attempting to bribe a juror comes down.

Finally, Erica Levin receives her sentence... no prison time despite attempting to bribe a juror. 18 months of "house arrest". I hope anyone convicted of any offence less severe than BRIBING A GOD DAMN JUROR makes sure the presiding judge in their case is as understanding...
