This is the offensive title:
MP Adler: CUPW Union Bosses 'Spreading Hate' Of Israel
Of course the MP in question used the term "union bosses", but the title is confusing because only the term "spreading hate" is in quotation marks.
The following titles would be inoffensive, and more accurate:
1. MP Adler: CUPW "spreading hate" of Israel
or even:
2. MP Adler: "CUPW union bosses spreading hate of Israel"
This request for change has been made by me (in a message to the mods); by NDPP who wrote the original title and can't of course edit it; and the title has been deemed offensive by other posters in the thread. Leaving the title unchanged is not only offensive, but it has caused thread drift which detracts from the important topic raised there.
I would appreciate if the title is edited immediately. Thanks in advance.

I agree. Both "union bosses" and "spreading hate of Israel" are offensive, unless we are speaking a) of a corrupt-to-the-bone, yellow union with probable mob control or ties and b) of someone who actually hates Israel and wishes to harm Israeli people; most probably a (real) anti-semite.
I guess "Idle no more" supporters are spreading hate of Canada, as they are protesting the shabby way the Canadian state has dispossessed and is continuing to dispossess and mistreat the Indigenous peoples here. Exactly what Palestine solidarity activists are protesting. And "union bosses" belongs in Fox News or Quebecor...

I don't assume it was intentional, and sure it was a direct quote, but not everyone is going to get that from the title. I agree with changing it.

Rebecca, you are entitled to your time away. Heck, it's unions that fought for the weekend! Take your time away and enjoy it. babble will survive if you don't get to the abuse queue for a day. Or even a couple of days. People might actually have to work things out for themselves! Or heck, even maybe drop the subject if they're not having too much fun bickering over it for 100 posts.

I always wanted "Censorious bitch" as my title when I was a mod. Someone called me that on babble once after I told them something or other was against babble policy, and I thought it had a catchy ring to it.
