Um, sure you were.
Hee hee.
Matt Moore, Christian Blogger Caught On Grindr: I Was Looking To Meet Men, But Not For Sex
exposed for being on the gay-dating app Grindr in February, says in a new interview that he wasn’t looking for sex on Grindr: He was looking to meet men in New Orleans to take him to gay bars.Matt Moore, the so-called "ex-gay" Christian blogger who was
“I can honestly say that I didn’t have any kind of sexual conversations with anyone. Anyone who sent me any kind of explicit photos or conversations, I blocked immediately. The first time I got on it, I wanted to go out and I wanted to go to the gay bars in New Orleans. So I was trying to meet someone on there to basically tag along with. That was the reason I was originally on it.”
I actually believe him when he says he didn't have any sexual conversations. Who wants to talk to an uptight self-hating closet case?
Moore, who said he once was an “out” gay man and had boyfriends until he turned to evangelical Christianity in 2010, explained that he still is sexually attracted to men and is not sexually attracted to women -- that ‘it’s impossible to change yourself” -- but that he is trying to refrain from acting on his sexual desires because of his religious beliefs.

Because that always works.
I think there should be a new drag name "Evengelical Christianity" so we know what someone means when they say "Then I found Evangelical Christianity".
I think one of the things that is funny is him saying he needed someone to tag along with.
Right, gay bars are so clubby and exclusive, you cant just walk in without the secret handshake. And if you dont have that, you'll need someone to vouch for you.
"yeah yeah hes with me, he loves the guys"
"Elton sent us"
In the gay bars I've been in there where many people around willing to share a secret handshake sometimes even when you had walked in with another man.
we're a friendly bunch K
You know, in one sense I want to trust this guy. After all, it's not like anyone going to a straight bar is just wanting to bang or get banged. His claim might be legitimate, and to assume all gay bars are meat markets is itself kind of discriminatory.
But there is such a long line of anti-gay lobbyists getting busted, it makes it very hard to give this fellow the benefit of the doubt.
I suspect he has a wide stance.
Oh Jesus.
If he wanted to meet men, but not have sex, couldn't he just have given up mouthwash and started dressing badly?
Or is he just trying to test himself, like the vegan who has people take him to a rib shack?
I suspect he has a wide stance.
Smith, Grindr ain't no eharmony. It's in the name.
With more than 4 million guys in 192 countries around the world -- and approximately 10,000 more new users downloading the app every day -- you’ll always find a new date, buddy, or friend on Grindr.
Grindr is quick, convenient, and discreet. And it’s as anonymous as you want it to be. Grindr is a simple app that uses your mobile device’s location-based services to show you the guys closest to you who are also on Grindr.
Never heard of Grindr, I should take a peek and see what it's about.
Why I outed "ex-gay" Matt Moore
[H]e describes his life as an openly gay man as being full of meaningless and unsafe sex, and devoid of healthy and fulfilling relationships. He claims this “lifestyle” is “driven by sex and indulgence, not by ‘love’”. And he tells queer youth that they need God to “rescue” them from “eternal condemnation”.
.....
Moore has set out to engage in a discussion about the morality of homosexuality, the desires of God, and the possibility of personal sexual change through faith. He has cited his own experience in support of the notion that devout Christianity can help people diminish and resist their homosexual inclinations. But if he has any interest whatsoever in an open and honest discussion about that, why should he be the only one who’s privy to the fact that this religious program has failed even himself? This fundamentally compromises the value of his testimony as evidence.
.....
I also don’t care if Moore regards his own inclinations as an “addiction”. I might consider it unhealthy and maladjusted of him, but that’s his business. However, it’s no longer just his business when he proposes that the rest of us ought to regard ourselves similarly. And we are in no way obligated to humor a twisted belief that treats our own loving relationships as no more than a relapse into an “addiction” that we would have resisted, if only we had been stronger.
When will these religious/right wing folks just drop the act and embrace their sexuality? It's like they secretly want to be all the things they claim to oppose, which makes their views COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS!
Remember that old dude who got busted with the "rent boy" and claimed "i just hired him to carry my luggage"...
It confirms that theory that the most homophobic people are just hiding from themselves.
evangelicals these days at least around here are pushing "its the sin we hate not the sinner", if you don't sin you're all good you can be as homosexual as you want if you don't engage in sinning.
I have to say this. There is much more diversity in evangelicals than you think. Even in the US, but especially in Canada and among younger evangelicals in both countries, there are a high proportion who just think its all nobody else's business.
Their opinion they see as just that: opinion. Essentially: over homosexuality, they dont waste any time on what "scripture says". Not because scripture is not important to them [or they would be ex-evangelicals]... but because even IF homosexuality is a sin (and they are generally not convinced on that), there is absolutely no reason to obsess about it. Sort of like: "There is no evidence it was important to Jesus. So...."
