In my continued search for evidence of the rockets used in this attaack I stumbled upon stuff like this last week and I've been watching this cat fight between these bloggers on whether the rockets used in the chemical attack were fired by the regime or the rebels... I’ve found the evidence of rocket casings at the attack site and I’ve come to my own concussion on who done it and why, not that it matters here; it hasn’t changed my view on the USA not getting involved in this civil war. I say no and fortunatly my congressmen agree with me as well.
Anyways now that NDPP posted the above Point of view we may as well post the other POV as well here so folks here can see both sides of the
argument; not that it would change any minds.
The evidence on munitions linked to the August 21 chemical attacks
The point is it would have took allot of launchers to mount that attack that night... and while the rebels probably have a few captured launchers on hand (that they could operate) I really doubt the rebels have enough of them to hit so many targets in such a short period of time (given the
long reload time as we all watched above). That and have the logistics and ability to sneak those huge launchers into enemy occupied territory to make it look like the regime did it makes the false flag attack theory a pretty long stretch.
After doing my own digging around I'm quit certain the regime did it (probably without Assad's permission). I'm also quit sure the attack didn't turn out as they had planned. You'd have to go to a bunch of sites that are more based on military thinking than politics to find most of what I dug up and I'm sure not going to post it here out of respect for the rules here.
Here’s my thinking on this (if you’re interested): What any of the sites and news source posted here by NDPP doesn’t tell you or cover is the fact that the local Syrian military command in that area was under tremendous pressure from the Assad government to clean up those neighborhoods. The Syrian army had been winning for weeks in all other areas of Syria EXEPT in the one area around Damacus. Think
about it; would you want to be the general whom has to go to those weekly meetings with Assad to brief him on your area and you’re the only one with bad news while others brief him on how good they are now doing? There’s your motivation to use chemical weapons.
They had already to no avail tried all conventional methods to defeat those areas and they all failed. Every time the troops move in they are beaten back despite heavy use of conventional artillery and aerial bombardments before each attack. In the end I think a local commander decided to try something a bit different this time. I suspect they tried to throw in a little gas into the mix this time and under estimated its effect.
Opps… Military history is full of screw ups and this very well could be one of them. And oh by the way, they did get away with it in the end… yes they did.
