Please write your city councillor and tell her/him to save the Housing Stabilization Fund

OCAP wrote:
This week Toronto City Council is meeting to approve the yearly Budget. There is a proposal to cut the heart out of the Housing Stabilization Fund (HSF). $4.3 million of the fund that helps people stay housed or get off the streets, is set to be eliminated.  We urge everyone to call, email, tweet, visit, etc their City Councillor to demand this not happen, with a particular premium on those among them who wish to be considered 'progressive' in the communities out of which they were elected.

Here's a copy of my hastily written letter:

Quote:
Dear Councillor Josh Colle,

Please do not vote to cut funds from the Housing Stabilization Fund.  I have heard that there is a proposal to cut $4.3 million of the fund that helps people stay housed or get off the streets.  This fund helps the most vulnerable in our society, and I feel very strongly that it would be wrong to cut it.  This most certainly is not "gravy" in any sense of the word.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Mark
