Sweet win for the Habs.

DaveW

Stamkos great, Habs better

NorthReport

That was a sweet goal off the post - Go Habs Go!

NorthReport

Price was weak on that one!

NorthReport

Yes!

cco

No riots. I feel like I don't even know this city anymore.

Caissa

Bring on the cubs.

DaveW

gawd, I just hope it's the RedWings and not Boston again...

B's series so predictable: some goon elbows/spears/hooks a fleet Hab, the papers go crazy, the coaches shout, yea yea, seen that all before.

bring on Babcock and Datsyuk for some real hockey

Caissa

After last night I think the wings are sunk. I can't see where they will get the scoring punch to be Rask.

If this was last year, the Habs would be facing Pittsburgh (if they win their series or either Philly or NYR).

I hate the Bruins but they'll bulldoze through the Canadiens and win in 5.

Perhaps Ron has been hanging around Don Cherry too much - you think.

I don't know him, but I wonder if MscLean was misinterpreted as it appears out of character for what I have seen of him

Ron MacLean won't be reprimanded over Quebec refs comment

CBC commentator said French-Canadian referee should not be assigned to Montreal Canadiens playoffs

I dunno;

if fast stylish Habs teams could not beat rough tough Bruins teams, the historic playoff record would not be what it is -- roughly 3:1 Ws for Canadiens Tongue out

DaveW

very disappointed this morning:

for one brief moment Thursday evening the possibility shimmered of a skill series Mtl vs Detroit: Datsyuk, Zetterberg, and their young guys, Tatar and Nyquist....

then, no: we go back to a probable bump-bump series vs the Bruins, which gives Cherry again a starring role, and all the predictable headlines

sometimes you have to live with your No. 2 choice, but it remains disappointing...Yell

Caissa

I went to bed after the first period with Detroit winning and my Blue Jays clinging to a one run game. Why do I turn on the sports news in the morning?

Catchfire Catchfire's picture

God damn it I hate the Bruins so much.

Caissa

If Price can get hot, hot, hot we just might have a chance.

alan smithee alan smithee's picture

I turned CBC off for good in the middle of Cherry's segment.

From now on I'll watch the games on RDS.

NorthReport

I think Price was hot

What did Cherry say about Subban last nite?

DaveW

I have tickets for Game 3; very glad Bruins being up 2-0 now impossible; that would have made it hard to believe ...

NorthReport

DaveW

You are one lucky guy!

Enjoy!

DaveW

Thanks,

my son and I were also at Game 4 vs Tampa; late winning goal made that about the loudest sport event I have attended ....

although I would add that the March 15th game -- when Ottawa blew a 3-1 lead in the last 3 minutes to lose 4-3 -- was pretty close, epic collapseWink.... and Ginette was not even singing!

NorthReport

If u can text us some messages 'bout the atmosphere, etc.

Cheers,

lagatta

Yes, that sounds great.

I guess it is no surprise that there was a very large number of racist tweets against PK Subban when he scored the winning overtime goal.

La madre del cretino è sempre incinta.

NorthReport

What did that right-wing white male jerk don Cherry say about Subban last nite?

josh
DaveW

the tweets I heard about were largely by BB fans...

Cheers,

weirdly the WiFi at Bell centre is hit and miss, sometimes goes dead at sign-on, anyway, will try something

Caissa

A 2-0 lead coming home would be sweet.

NorthReport

Cherry made some derogatory remark - just would like to know what he actually said.

Pogo Pogo's picture

Instead of talking about his goal, he focussed on a missed hit that lead to a Boston scoring chance.  Not a big issue in itself, but it must be looked at in the context of many other complaints about Subban's play.  Where Kevin Bieksa from my Canucks who can be quite inconsistent in his play, only has his 'smart' plays shown by Cherry.

NorthReport

Thanks Pogo.

Cherry's behavior is pathtic to say the least.

Caissa

Saturday's third period was painful to watch.

DaveW

it happens ...

I was at the Bell for the Habs game March 15th, when Ottawa led 3-1 with just 3 minutes to go; they lost 4-3

lovely for home fans, and yes, hard for the Sens but comebacks happen, you just move on

Caissa

Was the misspelling of the Habs intentional?Wink

NorthReport

Are u at the Bell Centre yet DaveW? Smile

NorthReport

Les Canadiens are losing every third period and won't win that way.

PS: Corrected, Tks Caissa.

NorthReport

DaveW - enjoying the game?

Not again though, as now with that last goal, I'm scared - is Boston coming back again in the third?   Laughing

Caissa

Montreal needs to learn to play in the third period. Interesting goals. Montreal's first 3 were all on beautiful plays while Boston got two deflections in close. I'll take Montreal's return to Firewagon hockey anyday.

again, their Wifi is terrible at the Bell, off and on; my son says it is overcapacity, but surely you expand that for the masses

anyway, quite the game and no letdowns, although at 3-2 nothing was guaranteed, far from it

Catchfire Catchfire's picture

Awesome, DaveW -- what a game to see too.

I always regret never seeing a playoff game while living in Montreal -- although I didn't have much occasion to do it back then...

NorthReport

Tks DaveW,

So what's your opinion on Subban knocking the net off the post - schrewd move or accidential? Laughing

There was quite a discussion about it by the TV announcers last nite.

re Subban:

you know, when you are at a live game, without the camera always focusing your attention, some events don't seem so important/obvious; it was only afterward that the Subban move appeared  so crucial; like in the Tampa game where they pulled their goalie, it took a while to realize what was going on, since it just looked like a Bolts time out from high in the stands....

and

a good commentary, by some character:

Heh. Awesome! "A super Vanek."

NorthReport

Subban's 'veteran move'

Classy response from the Bruins Smile

NorthReport

A lot of CLC delegates may be absent for the next few hours

Hey DaveW - where are u tonite?

Go Habs Go!

DaveW

Hi there, visited the Bell street fair, already packed at 5.30,

got a hotdog at the firemen's charity at the nearby station on Mountain

But

No tix tonite, so at home on the couch like everybody...

NorthReport

DaveW
