It appears like Andrea Horwath has increased both the number of seats and the popular vote for the NDP compared to the last election.
Having said that congratulations to the people who post here who won the election.

While my 57 Libs was pretty much on the money, the NDP were stronger than I had given credit for (which I am not unhappy to see as stronger opposition makes for better government) and the PC collapse was far greater than I had imagined. I could suggest your taking POL100Y, a trip to an actual campaign, and getting out of your basement and talking to your neighbours BUT....you had the grace to offer congratulations, so:

It turns out Arthur Potts has a rich history advocating against the interests of workers and has worked on behalf of employers in the private-sector to undermine unions. Under the Harris government Mr. Potts lobbied for anti-worker, anti-family changes to Ontario's workplace laws that put the economic futures of young families at risk. Here's a direct quote where he's complaining about how a law didn't hurt unions effectively, he said: "Unfortunately, the bill has not worked. In the two years since coming into force, no non-construction employers have been able to escape their bargaining relationships with the trades." That's a very telling statement which indicates that Mr. Potts must not have any respect for labour unions or workers in general. Potts also advocates against fair wages for workers (h/t Josh Mandryk). Take a look these two articles (here & here) where Potts calls fair wages "unnecessary red tape".

This election is good news and bad news for the federal NDP. Exciting wins in London, Waterloo, Brampton, Windsor/Essex, Niagara, and Oshawa; but, disheartening losses in TO.
The federal Cons will be a more formidale foe in the southwest and 905 than were Hudak's hapless herd, but I doubt Trudeau will be as big a threat as Wynne in downtown Toronto given he has moved his party in the opposite direction Wynne has.
