The situation in Gaza is similar to a prison for all age groups, ranging from infants to the elderly, where lobbing hand grenades into cells is the preferred method for dealing with prisoner complaints, which is a course of action that news outlets, political leaders, and influential elements of the general public supports in principle.

What's made it agony for them is the visuals. It's not about whether Israel must respond to rockets and tunnels. Personally, I think it must. It's been the wanton savagery of that response, relentlessly revealed by cameras.
Notice how he goes on to say all of that, but hedges it just like the oft repeated nonsense we hear from politicians and the MSM that Israel is justified in going after the tunnels, which can only imply support for physical re-occupation and violence again and again. All strangulated societies and groups under seige will seek out alternate ways and means of provisioning and organizing for their defence, particularly in the case of a foe who has repeatedly demonstrated genocidal tendencies. That is the crux of the issue that his support for Israeli military action obscures. Wanton savagery as he puts it is a prerequisite if Israel is to effectively address the tunnel economy of Gasa, unless he has in mind another way, like the Israeli's asking nicely that they be shut down and filled in.

All of these temporary ceasefires leave violence and the conditions for violence in place, ie: economic isolation from the world, physical isolation of the inmate population of Gaza and the West Bank from the world, widespread deprivation, and the arbitrary heel of an occupier infused with notions of superiority in all things. None of this should have any place in this world, except that where Israel is concerned, it specifically reserves a place for such behaviour as a national contingency in support of its project of territorial expansion and annexation, undertaken at the expense of the non-Jewish people who live there, who by chance have the misfortune of being born in a prison being run by brutal camp guards. In other words, the tribulations inflicted upon the Palestinian population for nearly 70 years have been by design, which is to cast the victims as the terrorists in order to obscure the fact that their tormentors are. Israel has banned young people from serving with one of its most prominent human rights groups because of its opposition to the war in Gaza. B'Tselem, which campaigns against Israeli settlements in the West Bank, was informed on Wednesday night that it has been blacklisted as a civilian alternative to military service.
The director of the body responsible for non-military options for Israelis who don't want to serve in the IDF, Sar-Shalom Jerbi, told Channel 2 TV that B'Tselem had "crossed the line in wartime [by] campaigning and inciting against the state of Israel and the Israel Defence Force, which is the most moral of armies". Ryan has made his views on artists who don't support the murderous IDF very clear. I'll bet he never hires them and that is a blacklist. He will never admit it because no one ever admits having a blacklist. He is not some minor player in the Hollywood game.

Good for them. I wonder about the others that signed the same petition. This man is using his position to call people anti-semitic for there views on Gaza. The tone of the article he wrote tells me anyoone siging a petition condemning Israel's murdering of civilians would have a hard time getting work in his media empire.

Well, the proof will be in the pudding, as they say. Some producer I never heard of and "unnamed" producers do not make the pudding. I don't see Hollywood going back to the 50s.
