I think everyone deserves a week or two off for Christmas regardless of religion or lack thereof. Last year one of the mods had another mod step in for a few days at Christmas bemoaning the fact that it was bad timing for debating to get heated which it was (over prostitution). You may not recall my participation in that debate but I volunteered to hold back until after the holidays which I did. We are again entering the Christmas season so in the spirit of good cheer I promise to be good until the New Year is rung in. This is just a truce. It doesn’t mean I won’t be taking notes. I hope everyone will join me in giving the mods a holiday before resuming hostilities. (You can all take notes too.)
We could make it a tradition!

Thank you Santa! I have to admit I was hoping for a reward but you drive a hard bargain. I've started early and now I have to hold on all the way to Jan 5th! It seems like such a long time but I will prevail against temptation. I see that Oldgoat is already back.

Well, I am pretty implausible. There have been times I've reflected upon myself and thought "ya know Chris Hitchins has a point". Except of course Hitch is up here now gleefully going through my infinite stock of 30 year old single malts. Half the clouds you see now are from his Marlboroughs.
Anyway, thanks for stretching your credulity enough to try to include me.
