Beer can boycott expands across Ontario
Come on let's all get behind this boycott and say no to union-busters and scabs
Beer Can Boycott Expands Across Ontario
To be clear, we are boycotting canned beer from Labatt's, Molson's, Sleeman's and Brick. Craft breweries and imported breweries are not on the list. Is that right?
This will be easy. I don't drink beer.
Steamwhistle is on the list. Oh what the hell, I can handle bottles.

Unfortunately, most of Ontario's craft brewers also use cans made by Crown Packaging. Also, some imports use Crown cans as well (Crown is a multinational).
If you're buying beer in a non self-serve Brewer's Retail outlet, don't buy beer in cans...period.
If you buy beer from the LCBO or a self-serve Brewer's Retail outlet you can have a look at the cans to see who made them. If cans are made by Crown Packaging, it's easy. You'll see a little "crown" usually somewhere near the UPC (Universal Product Code).
A small number of micro-breweries use cans made by either Ball Packaging or Rexam. These aren't under boycott. Again you'll see the little "Ball" logo or "Rexam" label somewhere near the UPC.
What I have found that is "safe" so far are:
Mill Street Brewery
Side Launch Brewery
Lake of Bays Brewery
Muskoka Brewery
Some beer cans aren't labelled as to who made them. I'm going to assume that they're made by Crown unless I learn otherwise.
The other thing is that if you have a favourite micro brewery let them know that you're not buying their stuff any more because they're using Crown cans.
I don'r drink so concider it done hehehe.
I've gone over entirely to rum, so if it comes to NS I'm already in.
