Election thread proliferation
There's wsy too much thread proliferation in the election forum for my lkinig, pushing other threads off the Active Topics page.
That was the reason for creating the Elections topic - don't know what else can be done.
Here's some examples of what I consider election thread proliferation.
-- One thread at a time for all party/leader endorsements would suffice.
-- 1 thread at a time about the debates would suffice.
-- One thread at a time for polling would suffice -- we don't need threads focusing on individual pollsters.

The mods could step in and close redundant threads, and put in a link to the main thread on the issue.
Much of the proliferation seems to be a byproduct of partisan bickering. Threads with hyperpartisan titles get opened, which (surprise!) rather than leading to productive discussion, tends to provoke others into opening hyperpartisan counterthreads in response.
Most of the hyper-partisan thread prolideration is coming from Debater and North Report

Many of these threads are based on some minor article from the media.
Hard to know sometimes when to post an issue as its own thread or as a post in another related thread. The former choice risks cluttering up the forum, whereas the latter choice risks losing the topic of the post in an avalanche of other posts.
Well, we have had a latest polling thread but then it gets filled with so many posts of noise, so when you are actually trying to find the most recent poll from a pollster, it is almost impossible to find, which unfortunately completes the mission some posters here, are on.

I look forward to when the election is over and we can have a proliferation of post-mortem threads.

Someday someone will invent a program where people can type in key words like 'canadian federal election polling' and the links to all the various polls will appear on screen within a fraction of a second. Then these dirty tricks will all be for naught.
Until that day; courage, my friends, courage.
