Probe Launched into Fox News Analyst's 'Kill Russians' Comment

http://rt.com/politics/240149-russia-general-us-probe/

"Russia's top federal law enforcement agency has opened a criminal probe into the statement by a retired US Army general, who suggested that the Ukrainian crisis could be settled by 'killing Russians.'

The statement was made on US TV network FOX NEWS on Wednesday. The analyst, Robert H Scales, a former US Army major general, said that the only way the US could have any effect in this region was to start killing Russians in large quantities to provoke protests in Russia itself after a great number of KIAs start to arrive from Ukraine.

Washington is setting the tone for 'shameless anti-Russian [hate] propaganda, reiterating each day aggressive statements,' said Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Aleksandr Lukashevich..."

The latest Russophobia: Russian President Putin hasn't been seen in public in a few days and, already, there is a glut of stories, basically completely fabricated, about Putin dying from chicken pox, Putin getting surgery, Putin falling off his horse, Putin getting a new alien brain, etc., endless nonsense about his health in western MSM.

Google "Putin's health" and see what I mean.

The investigation relates to the following ...

Responding to the news that the Russian Investigative Committee has opened a criminal probe into his statements on charges of public calls for starting an aggressive war made in the media, and that his remarks violated article 20 of the United Nations’ International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights that bans any propaganda of war and instigation of discrimination, hatred or violence, Scales shrugged it off by branding it “a Russian form of war.”

“It’s the Russia version of the First Amendment – five years in prison if you say something that makes [Russian President] Vladimir Putin angry,” Scales told Fox News.

Do they really watch FoxNews in Russia?  yup.

As a general principle no quotation of Putin’s or of any other prominent Russian official or politician that appears in the Western media can be assumed to be true.  Given the relentlessly hostile anti-Putin and anti-Russian agenda that now dominates Western commentary, any quotation is almost certain to be distorted either through mistranslation or by being taken out of context.

The situation is now so bad that even someone as senior as the former President of the European Commission will deliberately misquote words Putin told him in private conversation if he thinks he can get away with it.  Recently it has become clear that some quotes attributed to Putin have actually been invented by his Western critics.

What this article shows is that this process now extends not just to living Russians like Putin, but to Russian intellectuals who are long dead.  It seems the words of any Russian, living or dead,  are now fair game for those in the West who want to convince others that Russia poses a threat to the West.

This is a very sinister development, which makes (and which is intended to make) an understanding with Russia all but impossible.

Russia Today banned on YouTube, Google gives no comment

"Ah, ah, it's just a technical issue. Yes, we realize that RT has a set a world record with 2 billion hits. "

Western Hypocrisy, Social Media Manipulation

Quote:
No doubt, I am labeled a “Kremlin troll” by those who disagree with me, and typically this is followed by accusations that I’m paid to make pro-Kremlin posts. I’m actually an American citizen. Apparently, if you don’t think that the US has the right to go charging around the world like a bull in a china shop, risking nuclear war over the vice president’s right to have his son Hunter Biden be on the largest gas company in Ukraine, ready to plunder Ukraine of over 9 trillion in natural resources, then that makes you a Kremlin troll?

This seems to be the latest. Because the Western MEGAPHONE is being challenged by alternative media, the volume is getting turned WAY up. Everyone who disagrees with the stream of Russophobic vomit coming from Western MSM is a Russian troll. RT, with its 2 billion hits, is "accidently" banned from YouTube. And so on.

More on the RUssian "troll army":

Quote:
The United States, as well as western media, accuses Russia of employing an army of trolls to engage with social media, in order to influence public opinion. In case you missed it, here are some examples:

The author of the piece seems to focus more on the duplicity or hypocrisy of the whole "Russian troll" argument.

"Now, I’m not going to claim that Russia doesn’t do this. They’d be stupid not to. Russia cares about how it is perceived in the world. For crying out loud, they spent 42 billion dollars on the Sochi winter Olympics. They’re going to spend even more on the upcoming World Cup in 2018. The United States has declared economic war on Russia, enforcing sanctions and bullying / browbeating / humiliating / threatening regime change, etc., to any country who doesn’t go along with it. Through its control of western media, the US has engaged in a major propaganda war against Russia. Why wouldn’t Russia come forward to make its own case?[/quote]

Russia is majorly criticized for giving its own point of view.

What I know is that when the Evil US Empire, and its chorus of useful idiots, makes allegations about the most recent "enemy" or "threat to the national security of the USA" then you can bet dollars to donuts that that is exactly what the Empire is itself doing.

Count on it.

Cold War 2.0  -  by William Blum

"As cynical as I've been for years about the American mainstream media's treatement of ODE (Officially Designated Enemies), current news coverage of Russia exceeds my worst expectations.

I'm astonished every day at the obvious disregard of any kind of objectivity or fairness concerning Russia.

Perhaps the most important example of this bias is the failure to remind their audience that the US and NATO have surrounded Russia - with Washington's coup in Ukraine as the latest example - and that Moscow, for some odd reason, feels threatened by this.

An Open Letter To Peter Mansbridge and the CBC News  -  by Jim Miles

http://axisoflogic.com/artman/publish/Article_69776.shtml

"It is a very short commercial but it speaks volumes about Canada's supposedly leading news channel. In its 15 seconds, Peter Mansbrige's voice over says, ' I don't make the news, I report it and at the end of the day if we've affected one person, one policy, that's not a win, that is the news.'

Yes, you do make the news. You make it by editing information...and in some cases it is a simple matter of not using a fact, in order to build a bias. Let me provide some recent examples...

I have mentioned previously how Canada's news - in particular reference to the CBC - is biased as well as wrong when it comes to the situation in the Ukraine. The CBC does not give the background to the Maidan protests, and how they were manipulated by the US with covert operations guided by assistant secretary of state Victoria 'F**k the EU' (Nuland).

Nor are they using 'facts' when they say that Russia is the aggressor in the Eastern regions, when it was the Kiev neo-Nazis that attacked in order to get rid of the Russian population in the east. Is Russia involved? Certainly, but only after the US started and continues to aggravate the situation in the Ukraine.

One of the bigger Mansbridge lies within the story were the repeated statements about the 'rest of the world' and the 'international response'..In 'fact', the majority of ' the rest of the world' which includes China, India, the Philippines, most of Africa, most of Latin America, did not buy into the manufactured story about Russian aggression getting ready to attack Ukraine and Europe.

That is simply fear factor fodder for the domestic masses..."

Undermining Independent Media: How to Beat the “Internet Trolls”

Quote:
In order to beat Internet trolls, you have to know their strategies.

Below are 17 common games played by trolls to disrupt our power to learn, inform, and organize on the web …

...................

Postscript: Over a number of years, we’ve found that the most effective way to fight disruption and disinformation is to link to a post such as this one which rounds up disruption techniques, and then to cite the disinfo technique you think is being used.

Specifically, we’ve found the following format to be highly effective in educating people in a non-confrontational manner about which game the troll is playing:

Good Number 1!

Or simply:

#7

(include the link so people can see what you’re referring to.)

The reason this is effective is that other readers will learn about the specific disruption tactic being used … in context, like seeing wildlife while holding a wildlife guide, so that one learns what it looks like “in the field”. At the same time, you come across as humorous and light-hearted instead of heavy-handed or overly-intense.

Try it … It works.

There is still cooperation between Russian agencies and the Russian government and other countries on certain issues. Despite being provided with a substantive legal response on the merits of these allegations, the TSO has since mustered neither a single sentence in support of its accusations, nor a single word of apology. To all appearances, the TSO seemed to believe that it could not only silence Valentina’s music, but also renege on its contractual obligations and thus walk away from their commitments.

Your claim is a falsehood. I've already provided half a dozen times the exact quote from the article in which the artist was interviewed and her letter re-published.

6079_Smith_W

Again, ikosmos, nowhere in the article, and certainly not in that paragraph, does it say that the TSO made an attempt to renege on the contract.

Lisitsa did not make that claim either.

I'm quite aware that the article is worded in a way to make readers think the TSO did if they don't read closely enough, but Slavyangrad doesn't make an accusation because there is no evidence (and someone would likely get sued if they had), and my guess is that it is a made up smear like the hundreds of other smears and half-truths on that site.

Again, if you can find one sentence saying that the TSO tried to break their contract you might have some basis for your claim - though it would still need a source. But there is nothing like that there. No one said it except you. You think different? Then show me what you base your claim on.

The West Throws a Temper Tantrum: Putin trolls: another jejune NATO fantasy!

Patrick Armstrong has been writing first class reports on Russia for quite a long time now. He also documents everything that he writes, which makes his contributions absolute gold.

Quote:
Mark Ames has brilliantly tracked down the Kremlin troll story and shown that it is the same story over and over again, word for word, time after time. He has traced it as far back as 2013 and, in his search, he kept tripping over RFE/RL which proudly states that it "provide[s] what many people cannot get locally: uncensored news, responsible discussion, and open debate." Or, alternatively, given the fact that it is fully funded by the US government, all the news that Washington wants you to hear. So, not, perhaps, a source that can be fully trusted on this particular subject.

There's a nice hierarchy of disagreement in the article.

A really key point here is that this Russian troll army is essentially a re-gurgitated Radio Free Europe (CIA founded front)  story.

Another key point here is that good arguments have to be addressed, not simply rejected with responding to tone (Babbler Smith in the censorship of the world class pianist by the TSO stormtroopers), repeating the same unsubstantiated claim, etc.

Quote:
In short, ladies and gentlemen, the Putin-Troll-Army story is nonsense. Real trollery is an irritation and no more. Actual argument has to be answered on its own merits. And the Western troll armies – sorry, fighting lies with truth – would, if they ever get off the ground, be equally pointless.

The Western fantasy of a mighty Putin Troll army ruining A Noble Effort to Spread Truth and Democratically Valid Explanations is yet more evidence that the Party Line knows it is losing its audience. Whingeing on about Putin's troll army and closing comments sections is the equivalent of a temper tantrum, hands over ears, screaming "I can't hear you!".

Lies work for a while – quite a long time – but, eventually, reality bites. On its own. It wasn't a building-full of people in St Petersburg typing "Putin ist ein Genie, Du bist ein Idiot" over and over again that made the German leadership see General Breedlove's statements as "dangerous propaganda" any more than "Putin's a genius and you are an idiot" made the editors at The Guardian feel their heads explode.
