It's unfortunate they didn't take advantage of the Canadian presence of an actual participant in the Mavi Marmara affair, Israel's then resident Defence Attache, Eden Attias, who commanded the Israeli airbase involved in both Mavi M and Gaza bombardments. Canada has a legal duty to prosecute a 'reasonably suspected' war criminal, which Attias most certainly was. But apparently nobody thought it worthwhile, and the suggestion and opportunity was never responded to. Now he's gone.
I doubt very much that the ICC kangaroo-court action will be productive. Expensive too. There should be focused intense protests against the domestic sources of pro-Israeli support and the targeting of their Canadian political and funding sources. The JDL should be taken off the streets and CIJA with its NDP and CON representatives should be exposed and shut down in the same way that the JDL successfully campaigned to block George Galloway or now intensely lobbies all levels of government to shutter Palestine House as 'terrorist supporters'.
As with other issues, I don't think most Canadians really give a shit. Certainly not enough to actually do anything about it. Despite the valiant few that soldier on nonetheless.

Ain't that the truth. I think it is both sad and pathetic.We can laugh or we can cry about it..doesn't make much difference I suppose...seeing there is no government (with the exception of maybe Russia, China and Sweden) with the courage to be critical of the hemhorroid state of Israel.
