I cannot get my posts to keep the paragraph lay out. How do I do this?
How do I get paragraphs in babble?
You must be using some mobile device - iPad maybe? Babble is still living in the 19th century.
Unfortunately, the only way I know is to insert <p></p> in place of carriage returns (i.e. line spaces). Maybe you can type that once, copy it, then paste it as needed. Or whatever.
Hopefully some genius out there has a better method.
No, that seems to be the only way that works. I'm too lazy to bother most of the time.
The whole mobile thing is a fad -- like hula hoops or acid washed denim -- and rabble knows it. Just wait until it blows over.

A fad like the internet and the automobile.

Exactly - wait until those fads blow over and you'll make a killing investing in buggy-whip manufacturers.
I'm waiting for the printing press to pass. Ther are a lot of unemployed scribes out there.

Can we start an organizing drive for scribes, Unionist?
Quill do!
You can just scroll along.

¡De nada!
OK, while we are in a problem-solving mode, - for some reason I have been unable to cut and paste other text into Babble posts for some months now. This is particularly annoying when wanting to insert links into posts.
Any suggestions?
Describe what device you're using and then stepwise how you're trying to copy and paste.
You guys, I think you forget that this is the UPDATED babble. You ingrates should be, um, more grateful.
ETA: Peace, Boom Boom.
I'm living somewhat of a solitary life on disability, and doing okay. Partly that's because I'm in a very isolated area with no strip malls, or indeed urban infrastructure of any kind. I'm paying a ten-year mortgage on a small house, and I have a good sized garden and garage. I keep tied into the outside world by satellite television and the internet. If I had an inheritance or lottery windfall, I'd love to build a small indoor swimming pool. [...]I have a corner of the house that has a square lot suitable for building an addition, I had considered a patio, may still do that, but I'd love an indoor pool instead. There are a few home owners here who have installed a hot tub, with the walls, ceiling, and floor well insulated, so as long as the room is kept at a temperature of say 65F year round, there is no need to heat the pool water - just has to be filtered. When I lived on the island of Harrington Harbour, every home had a basement cistern usually made of one of those above ground pools, because the community water supply was very uneven. If a better water supply were made available on the island (at present it's a series of huge outdoor cisterns collecting rainwater) then those indoor cisterns could be made into hot tubs, for example.

Thanks for the offer, Unionist.
I work from an HP laptop. And for years have simply cut text from documents (word, pdf) and websites in order to supplement my devastatingly incisive and insightful political contributions to Babble (opinions may vary).
Some months back, the paste function just ceased to work: I can 'cut' the text - but can't paste it into a Comment box on Babble threads. (I can paste it elsewhere- in Word or Outlook email, - so it seems to be something very Babble specific.)
I use the usual mouse-driven cut and paste function: left click, highlight text in original document, right-click 'cut', then move to the Babble Comment box and right-click paste. But nothing appears.
Any remedial guidance much appeciated!
See if "CTRL-V" works for the paste part.
The 'CTRL-V' option works on other programs and other websites - but not Babble!
Which browser?
Internet Explorer.
Then Firefox it is, Unionist! That seems to have resolved the bug. Thanks for the fix!

Don't mention it.
