Perhaps if nationalism were not a national religion in the US.
I'm not really disagreeing. But for some reason, even when their hearts know there's two USAs, they mouths want to sing the one anthem. When the South says "The South will rise again!", I wonder what they mean if not Southern independence? Do they mean that they plan to either convince or conquer the North? They should be all over this idea like a cheap suit.
They woudl fight another civil war before they would split.
Perversely, the same one they fight every election. They're like a very dysfunctional couple who'd rather live together in misery than go follow their bliss.
