NDP MP calls Board of Internal Economy a ‘kangaroo court’
But on Wednesday, she offered a statement which repeated the “kangaroo court” charge and said Conservatives and Liberals “are using the BOIE for partisan purposes.”
“We are looking forward to this coming in front of a real judge at the Federal Court,” Breton said.
“We believe in due process and natural justice. This is not it. The NDP followed the rules. The BOIE should be abolished and replaced by an independent, neutral oversight body.”

Kangaroo court
kangaroo court is a judicial tribunal or assembly that blatantly disregards recognized standards of law or justice, and often carries little or no official standing in the territory within which it resides. Merriam-Websterdefines it as "a mock court in which the principles of law and justice are disregarded or perverted".[1] The term may also apply to a court held by a legitimate judicial authority who intentionally disregards the court's legal or ethical obligations.
A kangaroo court is often held to give the appearance of a fair and just trial, even though the verdict has in reality already been decided before the trial has begun. Such courts are typically run by authoritarian governments. In particular, they are still common in rural India, where they are referred to as Khap Panchayat.
