Mr. Magoo

There aren't even words for how chuffed I am to see Trump throw his toupee in the ring for 2016.

He's a blowhard, a misogynist, a racist and an a-hole.  And he doesn't care what people think.  And he doesn't care about the repercussions of what he does.  He's priveleged and entitled and if you get in his way he'll stab you and fuck the wound.

And now he's being coy about a third-party run, if the Republicans don't bless him.

So either he's their candidate, or else he'll cheerfully and with no regrets split that right-wing vote out of spite.  It won't mean a socialist in the White House, but it could very well mean at least no Republican in the White House.

His campaign theme song should really have been "I Came In Like A Wrecking Ball".

Between Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump, the independants are going to royally fuck up the MSM narrative and fuck up entire corrupt system.

Bernie Sanders and dispite some of the offensive things Donald Trump says, they are the best things to happen to America's broken system in my life time, perhaps even longer.

There´s more to this than meets the eye.......smoke and mirrors maybe?.....

Donald Trump on the other hand is not of that same milieu, at least not entirely. While he may be cozy with many of the venture capitalists and speculators that make up the coterie of the Wall Street right, his money comes from even murkier sources. Trump is a beneficiary of allegedly close connections with a slew of shady characters, from notorious New York organized crime figures to Russian, Kazakh and Chinese gangsters.

Hulk Hogan would like to be Trump's running mate.

There's no good reason to believe it'll happen, but a boy can dream, right?

What a fuckin' lunatic. Any rational minded person would laugh this clown out of existance. But the US is a looney bin,I'm sure there are many pumping their chests screaming 'America -- fuck yeah!'

But when I think a little deeper about this idea,it doesn't sound so bad. It would keep those assholes out of here which sounds just fucking dandy to me.

Yes, but if Trump's statements about the southern wall are true, they would expect us to pay for the wall.

Like Mexico,I'd expect Canada to tell him the same thing if he had the gall to ask for something so unrealistic.

2 words. FUCK YOU!!!

In any case, seeing that neither country would pay for it,I guess Trump and the rat faced Scott Walker could always ask their creditor China to pay for them.

Donald Trump has been endorsed by David Duke (quelle surprise)

His anti-immigration rhetoric seems to be resonating and the new political football is 'anchor babies'

Which leads me to 'Bobby' Jindal. His parents were immigrants that moved to the US 4 months before his birth. Hence,Jindal is an 'anchor baby'

It would be deliciously ironic if Trump's plan to deprt 'illegal' immigrants along with their 'anchor babies' became law.

Guess what Jindal. You'll be thrown on a boat and sent back to India. But look on the bright side. You can count on a customer service job with AT &T.

"In the current historical moment in the United States, the emptying out of language is nourished by the assault on the civil imagination. One example of this can be found in the rise of Donald Trump on the political scene.

Missing from the commentaries by most of the mainstream media regarding the current rise of Trumpism is any historical context that would offer a critical account of the ideological and political disorder plaguing American society - personified by Trump's popularity..."

Referring to the 2001 article (published by the Washington Post) at a South Carolina rally on Tuesday night, Mr Trump called Mr Kovaleski "a nice reporter".

"Now the poor guy, you gotta see this guy," he continued, before launching into an apparent impression of Mr Kovaleski, waving his arms around with his hands at an odd angle.

"Uhh I don't know what I said. Uhh I don't remember. He's going like 'I don't remember. Maybe that's what I said.'"

Mr Kovaleski has arthrogryposis, a condition that affects the movement of joints and is noticeable in his right arm and hand.

Donald Trump is causing havoc to the Republicans in the Presidential Nomination.

alan smithee predicted on a thread last month that the Republicans would win the White House in 2016, but I don't see any evidence of that yet.

While that is always possible, at the moment the Republicans are at risk of their nomination deteriorating into a freak show again like it did in 2012.

If the Republicans nominate a loose canon like Trump, (who already has a horrible approval rating with Latino voters), then the Democrats have a good chance at winning the White House in 2016.

I bet Hillary Clinton & the Democrats are happy with the way things are going so far.  If Trump gets the nomination, then Hillary will get a chance at the Presidency.

Or, if they nominate a loose cannon like Cruz or Carson.

Republican voters like their Republicans to be like the slightly unhinged and unpredictable one from a cop/buddy movie.  You could sweep the Republican primaries with the election motto "Get in my way and I'll shoot you in the fucking face".

Debater

The Republican Presidential Nomination has become a spectacle for the past several cycles now.

It's ridiculous because:

1) The quality of the candidates -- some of them are totally unhinged (eg. Rick Santorum, Mike Huckabee, Michelle Bachmann, etc.)

2) The number of candidates -- when you have 15 or 16 people running for the nomination, it makes it into a spectacle since most of them are in single digits in support and someone has to drop out every few weeks.

Even someone like Jeb Bush, who is one of the more 'normal' candidates, is having trouble getting anywhere this year.

At least the Democratic contests, while not perfect, somewhat resemble normalcy.  Hillary Clinton & Bernie Sanders at least somewhat live in reality, and the lower-tier candidates like Martin O'Malley & Jim Webb are respectable enough.  And having a race between 2 main front runners allows the public to focus in on the race.  It's hard to know what's going on with the Republican race when there are 15 people running, most of whom have no support outside their own states. (eg. Pataki, Graham, Cruz, etc.)

Even someone as crazy as Santorum is having trouble staying afloat this time.  In 2012 Santorum managed to be the runner-up to Mitt Romney.  Now even he isn't crazy enough to stand out from guys like Trump & Carson.  They have sucked up all the insane oxygen in the room.

Actually, all of Trump's bafoonery hasn't hurt him yet, in spite of the predictions the pundits are making. Trump absolutely can win because when you ask him a question, he will give you his honest opinion, and people respect honesty even if they don't necessarily agree with everything a person says. Clinton, on the other hand, is a known opportunist, and whenever she is asked a question, there's a sense that she is trying to calculate her answer based on what the questioner wants to hear. People don't like or trust Clinton, and the Republicans will expose her dishonesty, hypocricy, and opportunism if Sanders doesn't do so first.
