Tony Turner, a scientist in habitat planning at Environment Canada, was recently sent home on leave with pay while the government investigates the making of Harperman, a music video posted on YouTube in early June that has attracted about 48,000 hits.

Mark Johnson, a spokesman for Environment Canada, said the department wouldn’t be commenting on the case because of “privacy concerns.” He said public servants agree to comply with the value and ethics code — which lays out expected behaviours — when they join the government regardless of their level or job.

Do we need any more confirmation that Harper is a dictator?

Speaking of breaking codes of ethics,soliciting votes from dead people and actively looking for vets that have a favourable view of Mussolini for partisan political gain sounds very unethical.

I don't even know if I'd call that video "scathing". Yes, I really liked it. It was SO Ottawa social-justice crowd, even with Raging Grannies, and I'm sure they are all having a rousing round of fairtrade organic tea afterwards. And yes, he's a nerdy scientist.

BTW, there is another anti-Harper musical video out of the cultural hotbed that is Ottawa. No public servants (knowlingly) involved in the making of this one.

Which is more Celtic than folk in musical style, - the lyrics are cutting and the visuals quite biting in a Terry Gilliam sort of way.

And the title is a winner that we can all relate to: "There's Always Money for a War!"
