Ms Davis is now asking for a delay in issuing licenses

http://news.yahoo.com/kentucky-clerk-again-asks-delay-gay-marriage-licen...

No idea what she thinks she's going to accomplish.  After all, even if she gets the delay she's requesting the Supreme Court ruling stands and she, or at least her department, are going to have to start issuing licenses sooner or later.

Mr. Magoo

On a similar note, a Calgary Transit bus driver was terminated after he refused to drive the Calgary "Pride Bus".

Thing is, he wasn't ever asked, and he was told that he wouldn't be asked.  He just needed to have a bozo eruption for Jesus.

Missed this when the article was originally posted in June:

Program being set up to match homeless LGBT youth with host families. Having private (charitable) groups address this issue may not be the best of solutions, but it is a hell of a lot better than pretending that the problem doesn't exist in the first place.

Court in Belize throws out the section of their criminal code which criminalized consenting intercourse between two adults of the same sex.

breakingbelizenews wrote:

Chief Justice Kenneth Benjamin today found that Section 53 of the Criminal Code which criminalizes consenting intercourse between adults of the same sex contravenes the right granted by the Constitution of Belize to no interference with a person’s dignity and personal privacy, as well as equality and equal treatment of all persons before the law.

So finding, he added that the court has an obligation to amend the law to bring it in conformity with the Constitution, and ordered an amendment specifying that the section does not apply to consenting sexual acts between adults of the same gender.

In delivering the long-awaited 100-plus minute ruling, the Chief Justice repeated that the court could consider, but could not act on majority and publicly held views, particularly religious views.

The only remaining mainland country in the Western Hemisphere to criminalize homosexuality is Guyana. Island nations that continue to outlaw homosexuality are Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & The Grenadines, and Trinidad & Tobago.
